So, I have a 2003.5 P5 with sportronic. It has UDP crank pulley/lightened acc pulleys/header/P&P IM with VTCS delete/ TB coolant buypass/SRI/1.8 coils/2.25" flex fitted magnflow catted midpipe/ 2.25" Magnaflow catback exhaust. Goal in this episode is bit cooler running motor for longevity/less heat soak and increased fuel efficiency from ecu bumping timing/leaning mix.

I have the Mazdaspeed pink 1.3 bar radiator cap (for autos sporting calsonic radiator. Green cap is for manual tranny with different radiator) I do not have the QJB1-15-171 oem low temp t-stat but an aftermarket stainless 155 F/68.4 C degree hi flow one.

I figure the radiator cap with increased spring tension would tend to raise boiling point but used in conjunction with the t-stat opening sooner and running cooler would help attain the goal. Here's my questions........Would this be pairing be OK for oem calsonic aluminum core radiator with plastic tanks/rubber seals and not cause leaks and still invoke ecu to lean out mix a bit? Should I even bother with either cap or different t-stat? Have no overheating issues now. Just have the parts sitting here and am changing out oem hoses for Samco so while there I figured I'd do the t-stat/cap too. I have a new oem 180 or 195 one I could use or just swap hoses and leave t-stat/cap alone.

BTW, 10yr/100k anti-freeze is very worth the extra coin. I haven't changed or flushed radiator in at least 6-8 yrs and the s*** still is dark green and clear/not cloudy and fresh feeling as the day it went in. Pretty sure it was the Prestone stuff.
