I have ordered a MSP so these results are definately encouraging, but I work at Toyota Canada in the Customization/Accessories dept. I can verify that the GT-S is a lot faster than 7.5 sec. I know that the '02 models are experiencing a fuel related cut down on revs at an early stage, but the '01 models were always in the 6.8-7.0sec range. 7.5 is spec-v territory.

the "almzkid".

Where did these figures come from?

Ive driven Civic SI and its fast?

It sure is! If you rev high and go into VTEC its a pretty sweet setup. Its what I wanted before the MP3 came out. Sometimes I still wish I would have gotten it. I think the MP3 is a MUCH more complete package though.

The Eclipse GT top speed is more like 150+. I know first hand, used to own one.

there is no freakin way the Topspeed on a new Eclipse is 150+mph. The Topspeed has been listed alot of times at 140-144mph, and these numbers came from (CarandDriver). As you can see as i listed these#'s from 2000.

2000 Celica-GTS
2000 Eclipse-GT
2000 Civic Si
2000 Jetta GLX

I'm not sure if you're buddy has a Eclipse with some stuff upgraded to it but topspeed for an Eclipse GT at 150+mph, is something i've never heard of. That's just like me saying oh yeah my corolla has been at 135+mph.

Just because the speedo says 150 does not mean you are going 150. Case and point: when I was racing my 01' GSXR600 at Portland International Raceway I see 187-189 mph on the speedo with just two teeth dropped from the rear sprocket and at about 15,000 rpm's (just below the rev limiter) right before I started braking for turn 1. I can gaurantee that I was only going 165 or maybe even slower. Cars are not that optomistic, but there is at least a 15-20 mph error at those speeds for most cars.
