MPG...whats going on here?

Nice, I like the rack with deflector is actually worse than without interesting.

Yeah the deflector is supposed to help with noise but really that's it...

It's also where you can put the most stickers... ;) so there's that too...

Yes, I'm not surprised about the deflector contributing to lower MPG (even if wind noise is reduced). It probably had about as much wind tunnel and aero testing as my last haircut. Stickers are good for some...

One key thing I liked about CX-5 was the smooth top and that most new inventory was without a rack, unlike the competition.

Unless you've got an abnormally squared-off head, I think your haircut is inherently more aerodynamic than those things. A simple ramp with no tapered rear edge is just a big ol' load of form drag.

Yes. (I'm not Sponge Bob). I've never been in a wind tunnel.
