I got a 03' MP5 2.0L and I'm getting an exhaust and was thinkin of gettin some headers to go aolng w/ it any suggestions? I seen some OBX that I think fit and saw some for sale @ AWR but it says that "For racing use only",does that mean it won't pass inspection (NJ) or some s***, any replies would be helpful,HOLLA.

get an obx it's a good header plus has both o2 bung's on it

u can get it off ebay or pm ken on here and he can get u it also.

i have the obx header, i have had it on my car for about 3 months now and it seems to be a good header. it looks nice and cant really tell if there is any power gain. so instead im going with a turbo this month.

Did you reset your ECU after installing the header?

Yeah, Id say that you have to reset the ecu. I felt a noticable gain right after the install.

I'd say go with the obx. Lots of people have them and there a nice header for the price. If your worried about emissions, go with the wagner shorty header.

I got a ractive one. Yeah, i had to pay $20 to get a local muffler shop to spend 5 minutes installing a 2nd bung, but it is great! There have been reports of the OBX breaking welds in the past, as well as fitment issues from a few people trying to get the egr pip to fit on. Here is my Ractive header.

plenty of them floating around, though. i got a SS one for $100.

ps. you're looking for a "header," singular; not plural. 4 cyls can only fit one header. ;)

the OBX removes your pre-cat, which may or may not allow you to still pass NJ emissions.

you need to disconnect the negative terminal, then pump the brake 3 times. That way all residual energy is bleeded out of the system.

yeah there was a fit issue you have to bend the pipe a little to make it fit(egr). you engine light will come on an that will not let you pass inspection.

? the obx header? I never had to do that at all. Loosely attach the bolts in this order: springbolts (exhaust) -> EGR bolt -> exhaust port bolts. This will require a lot of pushing to get it on the final exhaust ports, but you'll be able to do this without having to try and bend the EGR pipe.

Carefull bending the pipe, its a b**** to replace if needed.

I sent you a PM about a shorty header.

I have an obx racing header for sale if you are interested. You can also do the fix in the how-to section for the O2 sensor to prevent the Check-Engine light from coming on with this header. I bought mine new from Ken and still have the box it came in to ship it to you. If interested, send me a PM or an email (admin at itpete.com)

I seen a TSUDO header for sale on e-bay for pretty cheap, well I guess I'll go w/OBX unless the TSUDO fits it has both bunges, but anyway so this is a do it yourself jammy w/ some mechanical skills?

Just get the OBX. a obx generally costs around 230 or so from Protegegarage. Good deal!

Go with the Obx or the AWR, I think that Ken from protegegarge.com can get them both. I have the Jet Hot Wagner shorty header, no problems yet, but the welds look like crap, I could have done a better job passed out drunk I will soon be switching to the AWR.
