MP5 alarm Q's

the mp5 doesn't come with an alarm (per se - honking horn? i don't think so) and no ignition kill ......

my questions areeeeee:

1. what kind of alarm does everyon have.
2. what kind of alarm do y'all recommend (what sucks and what's good)
3. where are good installation places here in the lowermainland? certified, just in case i want to get a online deal on a viper system

any info appreciated as per usual...

i just got a Viper alarm , basic model. it something i need to have to protect my dvd system. maybe ill get a better one one when i got money.

I have a Clifford Matrix II. It's okay I guess.

But I have the tilt sensor alarm thing (goes off when it gets jacked up) and the interior proximity alarm (goes off when stuff moves around inside.. good for leaving your windows down at 'questionable' meets).

They're pretty handy.

Both are solid units, I've seen some problems with the Viper remote, mainly that it really eats up batteries adn the antenna being broken off too easily. Haven't really played with the Autopage so I can give a fair comparison. Judging from the picture it looks like the Autopage gives you a spare remote, I know that the Viper only has the one remote and that a spare will cost you approximately $80.

As for an installer, hopefully you have an automotic, because if you don't you really don't have to worry about the warrenty, remote starts aren't warrentied on stick shifts unless the unit was designed for it and most are not. The other problem you will have is finding an installer willing to do it. Due to liabity issues and the shop running the risk of being sued most places will not install remoste starts on stick shifts. Doesn't mean that it can't be done, actually is can be done quite safely by using the in gear indicator wire that is listed in the sticky at the top of this section, it's just finding someone willing to do it.

pm kyredp5 he has a badass alarm with remote starter and all sorts of cool stuff. I forgot the name of it but hit him up, its pretty bad.

get robbed by the car-stereo thieves or the guys installing the alarm.. hehe
