MP3 Switch with ES PCM

So I currently have an MP3 PCM and am interested in probably trading it for an ES PCM since it has a saffer timing when it comes to boosting our cars. I currently own an MPI tuner and hope that I can have a good tune with it for daily driving and some racing. All I really want to know is if anyone has done the PCM switch from these cars and what needs to be done for it to work. Is it plug and play or do some wires need to be switched around. Thanxs in advanced.

I know the MAN would be the ultimate person to wait for, but I know a guy right now running the MP3 ECU in his DX, and as far as I know it's a plug and play deal. You should really trade your ECU for someone with a ES or P5 and make their day.

I read all the post on the link Jaime. My question is guys...will I throw any type of CEL with the switch considering I don't have the VTCS.

yes you will, i have seen this on a few MP3s

Putting a P5 ECU in an MP3 causes a VTCS CEL but putting an MP3 ECU in a P5 causes no CEL. Why change it out if you can tune the timing. My timing map is more then safe for what you will be running, why waste the time or money when you can tune it yourself? Mine is done off a J&S, so it IS accurate, plus I took a little extra out just in case. The J&S was in the middle of the sensitivity range too. I now have the sensitivity between 1/2 and 3/4 but still run the timing map done off the 1/2 sensitivety setting.

I'm just taking this as a pre-caution if the MPI decides to fail at any time. Plus (JCELL) Jaime will benefit from the switch. Is there any way to to get rid of the thrown VTCS CEL? It is a simple swap that would take no more than 10 minutes to help out a friend and repay a debt.

check if the plug in the wiring is available...if it is, install a selenoid in the plug
