Mp3 Supercharger

hehe...

Yeah I wouldn't call it a "supercharger" by any means.

Maybe more of a powered ram air at best....

It might be good for a few Hp though, who knows.

I dunno...it may work it may not. I placed a bid on one...there's a bunch going for $.99! What's to lose?

its a waste of 99 cents...not to mention the $20 required for the shipping and handling for the "winner" of the bid. There have been a few threads about this sort of thing before.....they are :bs:

150 CFM is only twice what an average 120mm computer fan puts out. I don't know about you but it doesn't sound like much to me.

150 cfm is what your engine is sucking in at roughly 2500 rpm. so that thing is useless above that. if that thing produced 500 cfm, then it would be as good as a "ram" air system. to give you any kind of boost in the intake tract, it would need to produce at least 1000 cfm, which no electrical device is going to do. have to go turbo.

If it only costs $20 or below, it's worth a try for an extra 5hp and maybe some added torque in the low rpm range. But if it costs any more than that don't waste your money.

Well guess what guys - I was outbid. Oh well. It's over $5 now and I don't feel like paying any more for it. Anyone else care to get one?

These things are a joke. There is NO WAY to get a fan shaped like that to provide any boost. There is only one electric supercharger that I've seen that would even have a hope of doing anything. It had a throttle switch like a NOS system and drew 50 amps when it ran. The claim on that was that a normal air intake would be at 1/2 in Hg below outside air pressure, and the electric supercharger would boost that to 1/2" Hg above outside pressure. They had dyno graphs showing a small gain but they wanted $350 for them. It's just not worth it. These things are a scam.

I concur, these things are a joke. I've seen a few of these before, and the one that made me think "this might actually do something" came with its own power supply to crank out more juice. There was a video of the guys turning this thing on and letting go. The fan contraption would levitate/fly up in the air. I'm sure that one would do something noticable.... Still, I would rather have real forced induction!
