Hi guys. My headunit is dying (Z828) and I'm looking into getting an Alpine. Thing is I don't know what the information is on the kenwood speakers like model numbers or thier power capability... So if some one could give me the model numbers for them it would be great or maybe you could tell me how to take the door panels off....

Do your self a favor and change the speakers as well, they are GARBAGE!!! 2 of them blew on me and I dont drive around blasting the radio 24/7. I replaced them with infiniti kappas and it sounds great, good bass without the sub and awsome with the sub. This is all with the kenwood unit too.

Just my .02 anyway-take it as you may.

One is the link to the Protege Car Audio FAQ sticky thread of mine. It will answer this question for you.

The other is to the car audio section that has many more stickies and some great threads.

Any headunit will be fine.

Something to keep in mind is that almost all headunit have basicly the same power output regradless of there ratings which is about 15-20 watts rms per channel. THere is all buit ZERO audible diffierence between these power levels.

Also, most any aftermarket speaker (like the stock MP3 kenwoods) can handel a moderate amplifier. Hell even factory OEM speakers can a little amp.
