MP3 Problems!! *read plz*

ok i just bought a drop out for my car to replace my old motor i got the motor swapped in and everything and replaced the coil packs b/c i wasnt get maximum spark from them but for some reason it will start but only runs on 2 cylinders and when you try to rev it up a bit it back fires both exhaust or intake side
 
was the car running with the previouse coils, or was it doing the same thing? the way you decribed it, it sounds like your car was running and when you replaced the coils this issue arose, in that case it should just be a faulty coil. what 2 cyliners are firing? and what coils did you replace them with? also if you have a scanner do a check to see what codes it pulls, if it only firing on 2 than you should deffinatly have a cel.
 
no codes no check engine lights the problem was with both sets of coils i used the original ones from my old engine *that worked fine before engine blew* but was doing the same thing with old and new coils cylinders that are firing are 1 & 4
 
UH-OH! So when you got the replacement engin installed and started it up, it only fired on cylinders 1 and 4? You replaced the coil packs and it still only fires on 1 and 4?

Where'd the engine come from? Check the timing belt to make sure everything is lined up correctly there?

Compression check the cylinders.
 
as stupid as it may sound check to see if your having any ground outs somewhere in your ignition system and or all your wire harnesses are connected. if 1 and 4 are firing that means one half of each coil isnt working. im suprised you dont have a cel on with this issue. maybe your ecu????? anyone else have an idea?
 
ok ok i got the thing started again fixed the problem it was off 1 tooth on the exhaust cam and was firing all fuggerd up so now.. here is a problem HAHAH
it now starts and runs when i put new plugs in the car idles rough but idles but when i give it gas it sounds like it is choking and pops through the intake now but then when it hits 3k+ rpms it smooths out and runs normal! HELP!!!!
 
ya maybe that thing shoot forgot whats it called. i think EGR valve? where its connected to the throttle body is to dirty. some proteges have a hard time idleing cause its to dirty and has to be cleaned. theres a how to on it.
 
checked EGR cleaned it and all that Check IACV and TPS still same thing also it fouls out my plugs after it gets to temp as well.. after it runs and gets to temp like it is running rich as all hell!!
