MP3 Posters?

Does anybody know of, or know people who could make a poster from a really cool photo of a blue MP3? My coworkers were commenting on how bare my office is, and I thought I'd show them by having a 36" poster of my car in here .

Hell, we could do a yellow one as well, and have members submit high-res digicam photos of their MP3 in a cool setting or something. We should make sure the cars are as close to stock as possible in appearance (stock rims, no stickers, no CF hoods, lips, body kits etc)... Lowering would be ok, this car needs a inch or so .

What do you all think of this idea? I think it would be kind of cool and fun. Just need somebody who can turn them into quality posters...

It can certainly be done....you just need a printer big enough and the paper for it....

Try going to a few places that specialize in printing, like KINKO's or something like that and find out if they do that sort of thing....and ask them what kind of file you would need to provide them with.....

I don't have any super quality pics of my car, but if someone else decides to make a poster of their cars, I'd definitely be interested in buying one.

For a huge poster you'd need ONE HELL of a digital cam.

New suggestion: we vote on the top 12 hottest looking proteges on here. High res pics are taken of them...and we make a 2003 calendar. If you donate $25 or more to the site, you get a poster. Word?

Yeah, my coworker has a 4.1megapixel that I think would do the trick.

I think it would be really cool if somebody in a place with really nice scenery (mountains) or something drove it to a place and took a nice shot of it.

I'm not sure where we could have these posted though. People could just scale down the quality and use their webspace here I guess?

Why not get someone to bring a camera to MAPP IV, the senery up there is great, back drop of the mountains and all...just get em early in the am to catch the fog falling down into the valleys

I work for a Graphic Design company and I could look in to getting a 13x19 poster made. If anyone is intrested.

MP3-E what would be the cost of a 13x19?(average price) I'm curious because i would love to have a few posters made of MY car... not just a stock MP3, but MY mp3 I think it would be kinda cool to have someone come over and see a poster made up of your car on the wall... I go to a school that is basically half ITN (my half ) and half Graphic Design... so i know enough people to make it creative... then im sure they have the printing equipment there... which makes me think that maybe if someone got me the image they wanted, I could get them printed for a small fee and sell em for cheap back to you guys if your interested... but i think MP3-E might be a better bet, seeing as how he works at a Graphic Design company

Thanks for the response man. That is cool. I did look into Kinkos as well. Their website mentions 36" and 48" inch posters with a glossy finish. Not sure how a 2.1 or 3 or 4.1 megapixel picture would look at that big of a size though. They also didn't mention any cost, which could mean its pretty expensive.

Yes, it does sound like a fair price! What resolution would you suggest from a digi-cam to get a 13x19 poster made and not look to chunky?

well I would sugest at least a 3 megapixel. I also have a very high resolution negitive scanner so I can get the pics in that way also. I have yellow MP3, so i can take some pics of that, I would just like to get some good shots of a blue one.

Also what do you think about puting the Wings West MP3 in the poster as well? I could ask WW for some high res shots of that too. lets try to throw some Ideas togeather and I can see about getting some made.

if we want stock ones, i cant do it from the front, i colormatched the stripe on my grill, but ill try to find some old pics, i dont even know if i took pics when it was stock.

im in i can take some really good pics of my car i think there should be a sticky post and every body posts pics of there cars ans we pic the 5 best and make a poster i can do it i think i have had pics blown up really big befor and they look really good and my dad is a good photographer he has a crazy ass camra and s*** so i can get pics of my car poster quality

Yeah, thats a nice shot. Do you happen to have it in a high rez shot? Its starting to get cold here so im going to get some good shots of my car this up comming weekend and try come up with a few ideas for a poster design. but the more pics we have the better, more to work with you know

I think that it is in high res. That pic was my car still in stock form, I can go back there to get some more but it will be lower with stickers I know people that work at the privat airfield here (where that shot was taken) I can also get some shots with leer jets and stuff in the backround, I think that would be sweet. If any one is nere gainesville and would like to do a photo shoot or something I think that would be fun. I'v seen another mp3 in town and I know where the guy lives so maybe I can get a pic of his car with mine but I think he doesnt know what he has (sad) so I doubt he will be interested oh well just a thought. Like I said I have good equipment and if any one is interested in getting some pics taked of there cars pm me!
