Hi Gang,

Just bought the wife an 09 CX-7 GT AWD on Friday and it looks for the most part that the NAV system is the same but noticed a slight difference with playing MP3 CDs in her car and my 08 CX-9.

When I load up her 6 CD changer with MP3 CDs and play them via the controls, the MP3 Tag information/Song info display stays on the screen, all the time, unless I switch back to NAV.

In my CX-9, the MP3 info displays for about 30 to 45 seconds and then goes back to the NAV screen. I have to keep pressing the Audio button to display the song names that are playing. The CX-7 stays on that screen unless you manually switch away.

Does anyone know of a setting in the 9 that will keep the MP3 ID Tag info up all the time until I switch to another mode?

Thanks
H

Strange--my MP3 info stays there unless I switch to Nav.

Hmmmmmm......OK....Now I'm really perplexed. It's not like I have the system navigating me anywhere that would switch me back to the nav screen.

I guess reload the CDs and see what happens. I can't think of any setttings on the system to keep the display up, can you?

Any other ideas?

SeCX-9:
There is a setting to default back to NAVI system or not.
Try settings under NAVI system. I don't remember where it is now, but it is definitely there.

Press the (DISP) button followed by the SETTINGS on-screen button to display the settings menu.

Returning to the navigation screen from the audio unit screen

Select the MANUAL on-screen button to set the function to return to the navigation screen from the audio unit screen by operation of the button only.

Select the AUTO on-screen button to set the function to return to the navigation screen from the audio unit screen automatically after 20 seconds.

Cool Guys. Thanks.
I was playing around with it all this morning on my commute to work and could not find anything obvious. Pretty much as non-intuitive as the rest of the NAV. I'll go out to the car shortly and check it out.

And yes..it was 20 seconds, I did time it this time.

Wow....I had this system a year and didn't even realize the SETTINGS text was an active button!

I simply thought it was the heading of the menu page. I had no idea there were options behind that button.

Yet again....I find the Denso interface completely non-intuitive....who knew?

Thanks

What else is new?
My favorite is:
try to find/use previously entered address as current destination.
It took me a while to get that... good luck

This was one of the things that annoyed me at first until I figured out the setting Force-1 mentioned. It always ticked me off when I was listening to the radio and wanted to switch stations I had to hit the Audio button to get back to it from the NAV.
