Hey,
First off, I am new to the forum, but this is certainly not my first visit!
Anyway, I was starting to replace my alternator, got the whole thing disconnected and off of the mounts before I realized there is really no room to pull it out without having to do some serious work. I looked online and found this link:

The problem is, I did exactly as step 12 or whatever said, pulled the pulley off, and I am still unable to get the alternator out either through the top or through the bottom by the driveshaft.
I called the "local" Mazda dealership to ask if they had any advice, and they said I would have to remove the front axel and a whole bunch of other horrible time-consuming steps.
Is this SERIOUSLY the best way to go about this?! Has anyone ever done this before and have any advice? I work and need my car for it, and I go to school, so the faster I can get this thing done the better. Any tips would be appreciated!
