Anybody have any experience with them, specifically their service dept? I need a quick oil change and a few other things.

I recommend Modern Mazda Dodge in Thomaston, CT. I bought my car there and have it serviced there regularly... they always do an excellent job, reasonably priced too.

My .02 cents.

i purchased my car from morande mazda in manchester and i have had nothing but good experiences with them they seem to be very good

I agree with RacerChick, I bought my car from Modern Mazda in Thomaston and have it serviced there as well, its always a good experience.

as i mentioned in the nepoc thread i have great svc experience with morande, and i actually bought mine from modern in thomaston since morande was trying to charge a premium for the car

So I'm the only one that had a sour experience with Modern Motors?

They dicked me around for weeks about the rear of my car rusting out (rusted right through the steel, was bubbling under the paint) saying that there was no way that would be covered by the warranty. I had to call my lawyer and have him write them a letter before they would do anything. Then, I just happened to be out riding my bike when I heard a car coming down the road at WOT and what do you know, it was my car on the way to the body shop. bastards.

What was their reasoning as to why they couldn't cover the repair under warranty?

You probably had all that trouble because Duane Black was the Service Manager at the time. He's no longer there due to the high volume of complaints filed against him. Now Mark is in charge which is quite a relief because he is fair and honest.

Duane.. the name sorta sounds familiar.

Their reasoning was that I had aftermarket suspension components and that the rust wasn't that bad. I'm sorry, but a car built in 2002 shouldn't have rust seeping out from bubbles in the rear fenders by 2005, especially when It had an undercoating done.

well as i mentioend i only bought at modern and only serviced at morande...

I bought mine at Cape Cod Ford Lincoln Mercury Mazda :)

They were really nice there, of course who wouldn't be when a kid comes in with a check who really wants to buy a car that you have on your lot :D

I'd give Modern Motors another chance but I don't have any sort of warranty (even my extended warranty is done) so I don't have much use for them now. Maybe next time my car rusts out (probably will be by this summer ha)
