Mod List Order As Far As Cost MazdaSpeed-Protege

I've been kicking the idea of building a motor up, money is an issue, but I do receive a discount on parts, but honestly don't know much about car engines, have raced motorcyle engines for a long time and would like some help deciphering the order in which I should mod my car financially.

The list I have so far would look like this (Please correct or make suggestions)

Double Platinum Plugs (not sure if has these stock yet)
Light FlyWheel
Light Pulleys
Port & Polish Intake On Block? (Not sure if this is necessar on a car)
New Intake
New Exhaust
Larger Fuel Pump
Adjustable Fuel Regulator
Progammable Ignition
Wide Band Oxygen Sensor
New Cams
Larger Turbo
Larger Injectors
Two Fuel Rails
Two Fuel Tanks
Nitrous
ReGear 1st-4th for good 0-100mph time, leave 5th for street use.
Forged Rods & Pistons
Hemi Head (If Possible), If not polish & cut head.
New Transmission with Sequential Gearbox

I'm sure I missed a lot of good ideas, like I said don't know much about car motors. Your help greatly appreciated. Suggested products by part number and manufacturer GREATLY appreciated. Also any shops that have specialty with the Mazda Speed motor or a motor that could go in there that is even better to start with.

Thanks,
Rob

two fuel tanks why?
Regear why?
Nitrous is just **** up

you have alot of weird things on your list, i would say look at these and you will find alot of good stuff

seems like you have to do a lot of reading before asking questions.
I was reading up for about 6 or 7 monthes before posting, 99.99% of your questions have already been asked, just do searches (you will get that alot)

Regear Why?
To improve 0-100mph on the track.
Two Fuel Tanks, One To Carry Race Gas So When At Track I Can Flip The Switch on the Progammable Ignition to handle race fuel.
Nitrous, because I've never had it before and just curious.

I've raced a lot of things including four wheeled vehicles that go 0-60 under 3.0 seconds and handle 3G's in the corners, so I'm craving for a good street/race car. The Mazda Speed is a good base car to start with.

if you just "carry" around race gas wont that stuff evaportate or whatever even with the tank sealed?

ive heard this TIME and TIME again yet not a single person here has ever had a problem.

i seep eople with crank pulleys all the time on here on MSPs and other turbod applications with no problem.

granted, i have enough problems so im not too interested in testing the waters, but it just seems like a he-said she-said thing. almost as silly as some physics major coming up with the idea that when you rest your hand on the shifter while driving your tranny will go out sooner.

You burn a whole tank of gas at the track. You just buy it at the track so it's not an relevant if it evaporates or not. Anyone know where you can do a hemi head job on one of these things that should really do the biggest gain and allow the compression to be bumped. Don't know if it's possible within reason?

WTF is all this off topic nonsense.

ANYWAYSSSS, PGFracing: I don't understand what you mean when you say you want a hemi head. Hemi engines nowdays are not really even hemispherical like there were back in the day. It's turned into more of a marketing term for chrysler IMO. The word hemi is now rendered completely meaningless.

There are more efficient combustion chamber setups than hemisphere shape now. Anyways, hemis generally have 2valves and 2spark plugs per cylinder, meanwhile have 4valves and 1 plug if I'm not mistaken.

As far as I know, no one makes a replacement head for the FSDE, but MAM is supposedly working on one. You could get that, or get some custom work done for your head.

For porting and polishing your intake, check out these threads.

I did it and I'm satisfied with the results.

And with all those modificationson your list, you might as well throw a good intercooler into the mix.

The "hemi" thing you are talking about well...I'm not even gonna touch the subject. We have a very good 4-valve set-up that flows very well when done right, on top of that the turbo can make up for a poor flowing head within reason.

Our gears do not need to be replaced, especially for a shorter gear set-up, I had to go into 5th gear on more than one occasion at the track and I was only trapping 105mph.

Also I know down at Modern Performance Nick does some very good cylinder head work. I'm almost positive if you give him a call he will give you a very competive price. If you need some proof of his work, just check out how many viper engines he does heads for....
