mnitza Carbon Fiber SRI

cool, i was kinda dreadin takin that huge ass thing out.... am stoked mine should be here tuesday... if its nice out i think i will install it right away....

Just got back from a highway drive with my new intake and it really changes the feel of the car. Definately, More torque and acceleration. Its very smooth through the rpms and pulls way more at 5500k than before. My car even idles a lot smoother than before. The intake also makes a whistling noise like a turbo. This car reminds me a lot more of my 1.8t jetta now because of the torque and the whistle. I wasn't expecting such a difference.

Just got it installed and took it for a test drive.

Holy **** is all I can say.

The sound of it is something that just HAS to be heard. VERY much like a tuner racing car. I am in love.

Tomorrow I will try to borrow my brother's vidcam so I can get sound clips. As soon as you start pushing down the gas pedal the car moves. Get near 50% throttle and the car just opens up and the roar of the intake is VERY loud. I believe the box helps accentuate this with an echo ... just so awesome.

Car feels a lot faster as well, especially down low. I am having to pay more attention to where I shift as I am getting up the revs a bit faster.

omg. whee. Pictures and stuff later as I can get 'em.

Badger- in your opinion, do you think having the intake resonator removed is helping the intake get air easier, or is it just giving it a different sound.

I don't think removing the resonator would make much of a difference. In the stock intake the resonator feeds directly into the air box. With umnitza the resonator isn't doing anything. They are no connected in anyway and the intake is taking air from the grill. I don't even think it would make a difference in sound since it is not connected to the air box. You'll know what I mean if you take your stock intake out.

The resonator is in no way connected to the new intake. If anything, it is impeding the flow of air from teh bottom of the car to the intake. I would remove it, strictly because there is no more use out of it.

man i can't wait to put mine in.... you guys are making me jealous... it is supposed to be here tomorrow.... this weekend is time for a nice drive...so stoked with all the good reviews you guys are givin it....

For the first time ever I hit 300 miles to a tank.

Right after installing the intake too.

figure 300 miles on 12 gallons of gas ... that's ... 25mpg. Probably my personal best ;)

but you have an automatic. my personal best has been 27.45 mpg. and thats with crazy starts and i shift at 5 grand or more.

badger,
what was your personal best before the intake?

Well I've never hit 300 miles before ...

Usually it was around 23mpg on average. But this could've just been a freak thing.

Installation instructions will also be provided, they are working on getting them up on the website. :)
