Midwest Mazdafest 2009

I know and it will have a better turn out I guarentee it and its all rotaries

as of now 184

http://dealsgaprotaryrally.com/Paid-registered-members.html

Dont get me wrong.. I want to go I hope I can go but I'm just saying 4 hours each way for some of us is a long drive for a "meet". now if it was an auto X or a racing event ok..

Why dont you just stay at home Mr. Negative.... and its actually 5 hours.... Id rather not have someone come to Mazdafest with an attitude of "DGRR is worth it... but yours...ehh, whatever" Please dont think because nobody seems to want to come to your "meets" that it is a reflection on our "EVENT"...

Perhaps I would think differently if you were actually bringing a RUNNING MAZDA vehicle... but you have done nothing but talk down about this event and like I said.... You should just stay home.

What I am trying to say is people act like anyone should be able to just jump in the car and drive down for a 5 hour event. Well some of us don't have a low mileage car that they want to take on a 5 hour drive. Thus why I said if I could gather some of my guys up to go I would ride with.

LOL and its funny how u talk about me not having a running Mazda.. but some on your list of those coming are not even bringing Mazdas LOL.. Mazda event... without Mazdas NICE.

I'm not being negative I'm just trying to say that its a 5 hour drive and at this time may not be doable for some of us.. If my rx7 was ready it would be a great cruise to pack on the miles. But im still about a month or 2 out before that will be ready.. u know SUMMERTIME..

And who said nobody wants to come to my meets... my meets have GREAT turnouts actually :). Me and my crew know how to put them down and make them worth the trip for everyone involved...

Wether I come or not I sure hope it is a great turnout.. I never wish negativity on any car event.. I wish I was able to bring my 7 but hell thats fine I have no problem going down with someone and taking pictures etc.

Final Countdown to Mazdafest!

Just a few days until Mazdafest so I wanted to go over a few last minute things with everyone.

Parking:

With the amount of cars we are expecting parking will be tight. You will be directed to park in designated parking lots for each type of car. 3's with 3's, RX-8's with RX-8's, etc. We will not have the ability to "save places" for people, so if you want to park next to someone, you will need to meet up prior to the event, and drive in together. Please park your car where the parking team directs you to. DO NOT argue with the parking team, or decide to create your own parking spot. (I have seen this happen) You will be asked to leave the event.

Food:

We will have Hot Dogs, Chips, and Pop at the event. The price will be $1.00 for a hot dog and chips, 50 cents for pop, and 50 cents for popcorn. All money received from the food will go to the Indianapolis Humane Society.

Alcohol & Smoking

There is to be ABSOLUTELY no alcohol on the premises. DO NOT BRING ALCOHOL TO THE EVENT OR YOU WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE.

Smoking is only allowed outside of the museum. Please clean up your butts...lol (Ok, there is no cool way to say that...lol)

Raffle Tickets

We will be selling raffle tickets for prizes for $1.00 Each. All procedes from the raffles will benefit the Indianapolis Humane Society. Anyone that brings in any of the items listed on the previous pages for acceptable donations will receive additional raffle tickets, based upon the value of the item.

Rain or Shine Event!

This is a rain or shine event. I would suggest if you have one to bring a canopy/party type tent that will shield you from the rain (or sun). Be sure to bring plenty of collapsable chairs as well!

Two Way Radios

If you have two way radios, please bring them. When we leave for downtown (Photo Shoot and Jillians) it will help all of us to stay together as much as possible. For the trip downtown we will be on channel 3.

Registration

If you havent done so, Registration will be $20 on the day of the event. There will be no exceptions. So save $5 and make sure you are pre-registered. Preregistration gets you a souvenier Event ID, Entry into the Car Show, and Corn Hole Challenge (or Bean Bag Toss..if you dont like the name), and $10 game cards and appetizers at Jillians after the show.

We will also be putting together goodie bags for those that registered after the first 100, so EVERYONE that preregisters will go home with some goodies!

Music Playlist

We will be taking requests for the Music playlist until April 15th. If you your request gets played you will have 30 seconds to get to the music table to claim a prize! Please submit only ONE request to Mazdafest@aol.com.

On behalf of all of us at Indy Rotary Club and Ray Skillman Mazda we want to thank you for coming this week and we are hoping that this becomes the first of MANY Midwest Mazdafests!

Thanks again!

Frank

high milage because my bmw has 226K on the clock

not saying its a "super elitist event"

I do plan to have my 7 running by summer.. The engine goes in this week :) have u seen my build thread or know anything about my capabilities.. all I need is my haltech and seats and a few little things and it will be on the road. :)

haha who said anything about BMW's?

good luck with the build and hopefully it all goes well...but yeah....seats would be a good thing to make sure you have :)

I dont just speak for myself when I say that there are a lot of people that have worked really hard to get this event set up...and having people b**** and moan about how its not in Chicago...or too far from them..or the same weekend as DGRR...it gets really tiring...this is something we setup to help out a local charity and to get people together for a first big bash of the spring....so yeah..i dont take too kindly to negative words about what we are trying to accomplish or put down the work and effort that has taken place to make this happen....its impossible to please everyone

I'm talking about BMW's.. u asked how I got that many miles.. I am talking about not wanting to drive that far with my BMW because it has so many miles..

and as for seats?? what are u talking about?? your like pages and pages back.. we were only chatting about my rx7 which is not done yet. but shall be soon..

I hope it turns out great.. really I so. I am always up for any car meet..

You all are too funny!

I do wish that more MI people could join but they don't come even when events are held in their own state unless it's their own meet/event LOL Times are tough though so I understand.

I can't wait for this event! I'm actually surprised by how many people are prepaid and registered especially since this is the 1st year but I did post this on alot of forums lol There is no comparison to DGRR or EECMM since they are annual events.

well I took a 4 day weekend this weekend for the possibility if I CAN make it down..

I sure hope Tim and Will can go, it should be a blast. I mean its a Mazda event.. of course it will be a blast WOOT WOOT!!!

When I have my mazda on the road I make it to ALL events I can. both Auto X and cruises, gatherings etc.

Agreed, I know a lot of people like you and Frank put a TON of work into this event. And you did this on top of your regular work schedules. I think it's very admirable that the event teamed up with a worthy cause like the Humane Society. Great idea! I'm also impressed by the sponsors. I have Friday - Sunday off and I wouldn't miss this thing for the world, rain or shine. Looking forward to meeting you all there.

By the way, I'm still working on getting some JDM girls.

JDM girls FTW.. u get them and I will drive the bimmer :D

I KEED I KEED.. I really just dont want to take my bmw that far with the exhaust.. the mileage is one thing but I am confident it would be ok.. but the exhaust.. no I cant..

I hope Will or Tim decided to go so I can ride with.
