good question.......... but imo a clean sponge for washing and drying/waxing with microfiber is ok, that is what i do and i have no swirl marks!!

Yea I bought some cheap microfiber towels from autozone just to wax but I wonder if a higher quality microfiber would work any better. Have you tried any of those microfiber sponges or applicator pads??
