Michigan Dealer Reviews

UPDATE: I filled out the survey that they sent me about Gorno, basically saying that I wouldn't buy from them again. Apparently they didn't like that too well. I was being honest with them, and I guess they got on the sales woman's s*** about it.

I'm not very happy with Gorno, I'm going there tomorrow for an Oil change and basic inspection. The service Dept seems ok, but they dont really seem to follow up on what they say they will do for you. We will see what they tell me about my air flow issue issue tomorrow.

-Suburban Mazda / Bill Cook mazda
-Farmington Hills, MI
-Oil change, noisy rear door lock and climate fan... and another visit for a CEL
-Replaced rear door lock and climate fan. Pulled CEL code and followed TSB/tech procedure for repair
-$31 for oil chnage and rest was warranty
-Don't remember service advisors

I had good professional service from them. Better than my sales experience... which is why I bought mine in Florida over Christmas and drove it up to MI. We'll see how they are once the mods start.

I went here to look at a Mazda3 in June of this year. They wanted $15,000 for a 2005 Mazda3 BARE BONES, no power ANYTHING with 58,000 miles on it. The car drove nice, but the sales accociate I dealt with was a slezeball and wasnt even willing to work with me on anything.

-Sales Rep: Lauren Shapher
-Purchase!

I ended up buying my 05 Mazda6 with 45,000 miles for $11,500 from Saturn Of Belden Village in Canton Ohio. They were all non commision and were Awesome.
There was even a "Sold" sign on the car with my name on it signed by all the sales reps when I came to pick it up, they parked it in the showroom for me to drive out. Since they couldnt give me their "free car washes for life" deal because I live in michigan they gave a full tank of Premium gas for the drive home.

MS6 has been burning oil since I bought it in Dec. Took it into Suburban Mazda on Wed. to have it checked out. They called me within a few hours and said that they were going to replace the turbo and maybe even the whole engine, aren't sure yet. I take it back in Monday morning to drop it off since the car is driveable and parts won't be in til Monday anyways. They are paying for my rental car during the process.

So far very pleased with the service, just as I have been at Suburban Mazda of Troy that I used to visit with my '08 6s

Will update when the car is out of the shop!

do you live in michigan now or just visiting? if so u should come to our meets

My parents live in Rochester & Sterling Heights. I live in IL and moving to IN in a week but went to high school in MI. So I am in Mi off and on frequently for business / visiting friends.

I'll keep my eyes open for meets when I am around!

I purchased my MS3 from Ralph Thayer Mazda in Livonia and I can honistly say that is one of the worst dealers I've been to. The salesman there was extremely arrogant and a complete prick. So that being said, when I needed service I took it to Suburban Mazda to give them a try. They were very helpful. It took two service visits to fix the problem and to make up for it they took it over to Fisher Body and had some scratches wheeled out for me (No Charge). Well see how they are now that I'm modded but so far so good.

Wtf?

I am pretty sure I posted a nice review of Borgman Mazda and a poor review of Suburban Mazda - Troy in this thread a couple months ago. Somehow it was deleted?

Hey, I got two reviews in one post.
First I thought I'd share my experience with Brighton Mazda. I have had a smoking turbo on my '07 MS3 for about a year. I took it to Brighton Mazda to try get a replacement under warranty. I had gone to another dealer any only got jerked around. (That review is next.) Brighton Mazda was as cool as a dealer could be. The dude you talk to when you take your car in is named Gary. Super cool, knows what he's talking about and, hold on to your hats.... honest!
I'll make a long story short and say that Mazda NA denied my warranty turbo replacement since I did not have all my oil change receipts but Gary was persistant and got Mazda to allow me the replacement if I would allow the dealer to take my engine apart and inspect it for sludge. I allowed them to and the motor was clean as a whistle so I got my new turbo. Bottom line: They coud have just said nope, Mazda said no but Gary was persistant end ended up getting me hooked up with about $2000 worth of parts and labor. They earned my business from now on and I found a dealer what was actually helpful and would actually recommend. They also paid for me a rental car the whole time my car was in the shop. Even gave my ride a good washing!

THe other review...
Sesi Mazda in Ypsilanti. I will never take my car near that place. Ripped me off nice and good. 100% intentionally. The dude you talk to when you take your car in is a tremendous prick. I actually can't believe that anyone would employ such an asshole but he fits right in with the rest of my experience there. I took my MS3 in for the smoking issue and they played stupid like they had never heard of the problem. I told that prick about the TSB for the smoking and he denied it even existed. And refused to even look it up! But... the TSB states that white smoke is what to look for and that's what was coming out of my tailpipe. The prick wrote on the service write up that it was BLACK smoke. I told him "No, I said white smoke." and he said "it doesn't matter". I'm positive he did this just so my problem wouldn't qualify for warranty work according to the TSB. The prick then replaced my PCV valve despite me telling him that was not the problem. He charged me the $100 deductible on my extended warranty even though THE WORK ONLY COST LESS THAN $80!! These assholes never did help me with the turbo replacement and wouldn't even try. Instead they actually charged me $100 to change a perfectly good part.
While I had my car in the shop they told me that they stopped giving out loaner cars a year ago. I said "really? you guys just gave me a loaner car 6 months ago..." The moron just mumbled some more bulls*** lies.
I complained about all of this to the manager of the dealer and just like I expected, he did not give a s***. Not one bit.

I will NEVER go there again even though it is closer to my house. I wouldn't recommend SESI Mazda to my worst enemy. Bunch of crooked worthless bastards.

Death to Suburban Mazda! I took my 07' mazdaspeed 3 into suburban mazda, the dealer I purchased the car from. While in the shop they proceeded to change my fresh redline racing oil, with non synthetic oil, for a 55 dollar charge. Suburban mazda is a sad place to visit.

Goldwing2000, I believe we did some fun drives together a few years back. I need some work done on my car, and my home dealer Suburban Mazda is horrible. As far as I can see there are no dealers that stand out in any areas, especially service, throughout the thread. Have you seen or heard of any private shops, or out of state dealers more reputable for quality service?
Thanks
