michael schumacher announces retirement

I knw I had a big wtf On my face! Anyone believe he's being forced or you think he just getting tired of it?

why do you say that. he was one of the best, had one of the best teams, has a huge following, and if you saw his speach has a lot of class. i just think he realizes its time to move on, and quit while he is ahead

He is a good driver, but he has the personality of a rock.

It is going to make the F1 at Indy a little more interesting. I think he won all of the races except one since F1 came back to Indy.

As some others mentioned, I never liked the guy either. If you ever looked at his "early" years, and even up until the last few, his behaiviour on and off the track fell by the wayside. Etiquette is a foregone conclusion with him.

Don't get me wrong - F1 and most motorsports by nature cause racers to resort to dirty antics at some point in time. MS was, however, consistently the biggest asshole on the circuit.

All the money, fame, and Ferrari fumes went to his head.

He's an amazing driver. Too bad he cheats.

Everyone cheats at sometime or other. It happens - some inadvertently, others not so.

IMO, I won't ever think of him as any sort of F1 legend - he's just a "winner" to me. Nothing more.

Very well said. I agree completely. There are a few other drivers that could have easily achieved what he did had they had the hardware that he did.

michael schumacher is f1's version of NASCAR'S Dale Earnhardt. The only differance is Earnhardt died before he could retire. either way good riddance.

BTW I love NASCAR as well as all motorsports. it's not just the rednecks that like it. It's too bad Dale Jarrett is retiring.

Put it this way, he's got much more class and skill than Renault and their "star" driver Fernando Alonso. It's sad to see him go though, at least for me it is.

He's a choad. Just ask Jacque Villaneuve when JV was leading in the points race late in the year, JV and MS were running 1, 2 respectively, and MS purposely attempts to ram JV off the road. He even admitted to doing so after the race and eventually was (shockingly) fined by F1. He's a guy that has benefited from superior hardware, favorable treatment by F1, and favorable treatment by his "team" over the "#2" driver.(peep)
