I just installed a front facing dash cam after watching a bunch of dashcam videos. I also want to install one in the back window, and I have a few old android phones that I want to use for that purpose. But there's no power plug in the trunk. Does anyone know of the easiest way to tap into power back there? My first impulse is to tap into the rear lights some how, where I can stuff the wiring into those side pockets where you change the light bulbs. But I don't know if there is any constant power back there, or better yet power that's only on when the car is on. Are the various tail lights switched ground? I just need enough current to run a usb charger.
