Megan racing short shifter

So I got this short shifter for my 2002 protege dx I didn't want to spend the money and get the twm shifter so I got this one and it is decent quality just looking at it. Installing it was a hassle the c clip that goes on top of the coupling would not fit. It wouldn't fit by a hair about 2 hours of filing the c clip down I finally got it to hold so the shifter wouldn't fall through.
Overall decent worth the $54.

I had the same problem with mine, In the end I had to finesse the groove on shifter, can be carefully done with a hacksaw or die grinder with cut off disc, I also shimmed where the megan assembly drops into the oem housing as mine had up and down play when the clip went in.
