Medieval Motorsports rear motor mount?

I'm looking into getting a rear mount for my MS6 and came accross this on ebay. Is anyone using this mount? I have never heard of this company. It kinda looks like the AWR mount but it says it uses 65A Hot Poor Urethane and it suppose to hold like a 100 duro but 85% less vibrations. I was going to order the SU mount but their out of stock for 3-4 more weeks and the AWR mount is too loud and the CP-E is ugly (I know its under the car but the SU mount looks nicer)

Anyway if any one knows about these, let me know what your thoughts are on them, if not I'm gonna have to wait til SU gets more in stock. BTW its $58 and free shipping. Thanks.

This may be a little more complex than what you're looking for, but you can check out the link below for an explanation of urethane hardness. It's not just about the designated hardness of the material. The hardness is only one portion when factoring out the quality of the types of material that these motor mounts are made of. In order to back up their claim that their motor mount is as strong as a 100 durometer material, they should have test evidence against a 100 durometer material.

Essentially, what I'm saying is there may be some truth to their claim, because urethane hardness does not decide urethane quality (it's based on microstructure of the physical material). However, if they have developed and replicated this microstructure for each and every one of their motor mounts, then they would likely also have all the necessary test documentation (outside of proprietary chemistry information) in order to back up those claims.

Hope that helps!

This is a little more complex of a response than I was looking for but I see what you saying. I guess my main concern about these mounts is weather or not they are good quality and actually do what they claim they're suppose to do. I guess the only way to really find out is to get it, but I dont want to be the ginnie pig cause odd's are I'll get what I paid for.....a cheap mount.

Maybe I'll just until SU gets in their new batch of mounts.

The Medieval one is a blatant ripoff of the AWR one. Save your money and get the AWR, no reason to spend over $100 for a rear mount.

And please, save yourself and don't buy anything for your engine on ebay unless it's a legitimate part from a known vendor.

the medieval mounts and stuff on ebay is nothing to worry about.....i bought the full set for my p5 and it's still dsmotorsports that is selling on ebay

There is nothing wrong with Ebay. Every company from AEM to CPE is on Ebay. As for Medieval, just do a search, they are on this forum and on MSF. I have all their mounts on the 3 and love them.

If you're in the 3 and protege threads, you'd find out that there's a battle between AWR, Protege Garage, SU, and Medieval. I hear that the Medieval mounts are good because they hold well and don't give too much vibrations, but some people who like to autoX think that a stiffer mount should be used.

I wasn't aware there was a war going on with all those companys but I hardly ever go on the protege or 3 forums...intresting. From the research I have done, it seems the CP-E and SU mount are the ones that cause less vibrations. (for the Speed6) I've read the AWR is noisy. I'm not looking to Auto X my car, my wife and I have a baby on the way so I was trying to get something that didn't vibrate that much. My car has 53k miles on it and really needs a better mount. I can no longer tolerate the horrible shifting on this thing.....thats why I ordered the TWM SS as well. Decisions, decisions....

As far as ordering parts of Ebay, alot of people knock it but I've bought stuff from there before with no problems. I got my Turbo XS BOV for this car and countless other things on there for my old cars like CATS, headers, and bunch of other random parts. I dont know why people knock it so much.

Read that. It applies to the MS3 rear mount, but you'll notice some similarities.

Go with the 70 duro AWR. There's a reason they are used on the SWC cars.

Thanks for diggin that up for me tunersteve. I've heard really good things about the AWR mount but the thing I hear the most is that they vibrate alot inside the cabin. If I didn't have a baby on the way I would care less. Since your running the AWR what is your honest opinion on the vibrations inside the cabin? Is it really that bad?

I honestly don't notice it anymore. You can tell more with the AC/defrost on, but you get used to it after a week. I'm running the 88 duro on mine. The 70 should be noticably softer, but firmer than stock.

I am so confused about which one to get...AWR? Medival? SU or CP-E?

I've heard good and bad things about all of them. AWR and Medival seems better on the wallet but AWR seems to vibe more.

CP-E and SU seem like they vibe less than AWR but paying $140 for a mount is joke.

I think I'm gonna try the medival mount and see how that works out for me. Its cost the least and it seems to vibe less than the AWR from what I understand.

I'll try it out and write a review on it in a couple weeks. Thanks for everyones input!

To trump any doubts or concerns you may have about buying either of them (AWR or Medival) I will tell you, they are VERY easy to resell. Mine was sold in a matter of hours on here and cheap to ship too. Just to help ease your mind a bit. Also, Ken at ProtegeGarage is always willing to cut a deal, try contacting him.

Sorry for the almost month delay on this. I finally got the mount in.....took forever to receive. I will be installing it this following weekend and do a write up on it, I was gonna try to do it today but being mothers day and all, and I dont have time during the week.....anyway I will install next saturday 5/16 and let you guys know what I think

I just changed the oil on the MS6 and said while I'm here, mine as well install the DS rear motor mount. I wish I would of installed the mount when I first bought the car. Shifts sooo much smoother. No more jerkiness. I paid 58 shipped from Ebay. Great deal in my opinion! Install was super easy
