I am trying to find out if anyone has had any trouble with defi boost gauge compared to greddy electronic gauge for acurate readings? I want to know if the extra money for the electronic gauge is worth it?any help would be great.

I would say get a decent mechanical gauge and then buy an electronic boost controller. Just personal preference.

I was leaning towards the manual gauges and am definatly geting an electronic boost controller . from what Ive read so far greedy seems the most accurate for boost control . Would love any other suggestions on this . I definatly want to control boost spikes .

can someone expain how a electronic boost gauge work's.if their is no vac line how does it take it's reading.

ok i was thinking that it had no vac line.

thank you.

so what's the difference then?

With a mechanical boost gauge you have to run a vacuum line all the way to the gauge (ie through the firewall into the cabin).

With an electronic boost gauge you only need to run a thin electrical wire through the firewall.

I love VDO gauges cause you can go to junkyards and find them in porsches and sabbs. mine reads 30hg-15psi perfect for a mazdaspeed. I love when people buy a 30 psi gauge and only run 7-8 psi, and better yet get it in BAR wtf we live in america we don't know how many bar our tires are supposed to have

ive got a defi link boost and water temp guage... most accurate and reliable guages u can buy

The vacumn line is very thin and easy easy to go through the firewall.

Dude I've been saying this FOREVER....well 3 months. I have a 15 psi gauge and it's MORE than enough for the Speed.

The autometer gauges are used in many real racing situations with tons of accuracy. Way more then even we need on the street.

out of all the most popular guage manufacturers autometer is the most inaccurate and unreliable... but theyre also the cheapest so u decide what u want

ive heard alot of people complaining about autometer... ive heard no one complain about defi nor any of the other japanese brands

$75 is cheap compared to the $150+ that the others start at

A 3/16" vacuum hose is a lot thicker than an insulated 18 gauge wire.

The wire is even a lot thinner than the thin nylon vacuum line supplied with most mechanical boost gauges.

Yeah, it's easy to run a vac line through the firewall (I have a mechanical gauge) but it's even easier to run one single very thin wire.

The vacuum line is just as easy. I have done a ton of wireing and I did my first vacuum line with this boost gauge. It was very easy. I did not even have to open the hole. I placed it next to the cheese amp power wire and pushed it right through. If anything it's easier than a wire because it's a bit stiffer which helps to push it through.

Don't get me wrong the Defi gauges blow away the Autometer in looks with the back lighting but I don't have that kind of cash. Baby forumula is $23.00 a can :D , he goes through one a week. Plus I feel like that money can be use to make the car faster. Higher priced 94 octain gas, plugs, boost controller.

Ok so there is no proof.
