Mazdaspeed6 Clutch Fix TSB

I went to the dealer today and had them order the parts for the tsb. While I was there I asked how many people with the speed6 had been in for a new turbo due to smoke! There were 2 in the bay and one in the lot waiting. He also said that a cx-7 was getting the turbo replaced as well. Sound like a recall is on the way. Cant wait for the new clutch, but having some fun with the old one while I wait!!!

Got my car back today. All I can say is wow!(drive2) This car feels so much better now. The engagement is nice and low and just feels right. I am glad I got this done for sure.

Glad to hear it :) You went to Walser right?

I live in Arlington WA. I go to mazda of Everett. They told me that they pull the engine to do the clutch work, is this the norm?

Yep I went to Walser. Really good customer service there can't complain at all, except for one little tiny thing...they forgot to do the alignment I noticed it yesterday as I was driving home. Oh well I am on vacation all next week so Ill ahve time to bring it in.

Did Walser give you any problems when you first told them about the tsb?

Not me.

Make sure you ask for Cory Vuem or Veum. He knows all about it.

Nope they didn't give me any problems, they actually asked if I was there for the TSB when I rolled into the bay. I said yes of course and they are like "ok lets get you set up with a rental car" and I was on my merry way.

Ok, so i pick up my car Friday night! Had a meeting at work and screwed my timing. Anyway, service dept was closed when i got there but manager was there to get me my ride. Clutch is really smooth now. However, now everytime I change gears i hear a 'click' coming from the clutch. Anyone experiencing this? I'm gonna call the service manager and ask him what's up? had my car for a whole week and didn't even test drive it? guess it's partially my fault for not gettin there early enough to test drive the car though.

Did anybody has this Clutch Fix in MD my service manager is giving me the run around.

What dealership did you go to? Im up here in the DC/MD area and bought my car at Congressional Mazda in Rockville. Dropped it off due to the smoke and also asked them to to the TSB, some girl calls back and says they wont be able to do it because my car has no issues with the clutch yet it falls into Category A. It was my impression that it was by VIN number not necessarily customer complaint? Any advice from anyone about my next step...especially since my car is at 10400 mi.

Armyguy you should go to the dealer face to face and bring a print out of the TSB if you can....... inform them that it's by the VIN number and not by customer complaint.... if you have to throw in a few lines like how the valet stalled your car 3 times.....yet he drove off in your friend's manual BMW M3 before servicing you. And that you had your oil changed (unless you get your oil changed at the dealer) and the mechanic at the shop stalled your car.

Be sure to show them that the TSB registers it by VIN number and not customer complaint...... if they still don't do it, try going to another dealer.

I stopped by my dealer today and the parts are in.... I'm going in thursday @ 7:30 AM EST to drop my car off.... :D

Also the TSB is through the life of the warranty, not the 12k miles for the transmission...... anyone being denied for theirs cause of being over 12k miles needs to fight back with their dealer and inform them of it.

i called up the dealership today and i get to drop my car off to get checked out on friday morning, they know of the tsb thank god.

as for tsb with mileage concerns..they said their shouldn't be a mileage restraint UNLESS your clutch is definitely worn out/worn down.

Your sig says you have an 07. Did you check to make sure your car is within the VIN number range listed in the first post? It was my understanding that most if not all 07 cars already have the new clutch.

Well luckily I didnt have to go up there. They called back today saying they spoke with Mazda again and now they are going to do it, the bad part... parts could be here tomorrow but more than likely 7-10 days. They also said the smoking was due to a PVS? seal (I believe thats what they called it), I seem to remember a while ago they said they fixed that part and it started to smoke again. I guess I will see if it holds up to the pressure this time.

It seems Mazda is very reluctant to admit something may be wrong with there turbo setup, seeing as though both the MS6 and CX7 's smoke.

I didn't know the CX-7's smoked

and yeah mazda might be reluctant to want to fix all the early model turbos..... considering the 2007 ms6's don't seem to smoke? and the cx-7 doesn't have the same turbo, so to me it's a "first year turbo" like the setup for the 2006 MS6s

Who knows, but if that's the case that's a lot of parts and labor that mazda would have to cover......
