Mazdaspeed - how long will Mazdaspeed3 be offered?

I know that the Mazdazpeed 6 was offered for a couple of years. The Mazdaspeed 3 has now been offered for two years.

Is there an end in sight for this model?

Is there typically only one vehicle offered at a time as a Mazdaspeed?

Is there a limit on the number of 2008 Mazdaspeed 3s produced?

Ed.

I remember my salesperson telling me that something like every two years there's a new, different speed vehicle. I think he said the previous one was the mazdaspeed miata. I'm not entirely sure how long the speed3 will be offered, but my impression was that it was a limited run. Of course, I'm thinking, if the thing sells very well, mazda marketing might just decide to keep the cash cow alive.

Sorry to s*** on the people that hope there is a 2009 model and up, but since I already have one, I would love it if they discontinued it for the time being atleast. That would make me feel much better about my car :)

Heh, I share the sentiment. I'm slightly annoyed that there's even the 2008.5 with different features. (I really wanted CD+mp3 in my sterio, grr!)

+1
I got mine thinking there would be no more. Mazda you fuckers

usually if a company offers a mid year refresh (08.5) that is a good sign of the end of the run. Besides, the 3 series is up for a refresh itself, so I would be surprised if there was an 09 ms3.

there are like 10 other threads on this, please use that search button people!

look at from this point of veiw thou more years of production means more cars correct!? that means more people will own an take intrest in our cars= more bigger better mods to do and choose from.

lets say there is 10000 cars lets say half of these cars the owners dont want to mod them and rather keep there warrenty. how many companys want to do R&D for a product that is going to be projected to 5000 cars owners, and then ontop of all of that compete one another.

i say bring on 09

I would also be surprised if they ship the MS3 into 2009 model year. I wonder what the next Mazdaspeed item will be?

I do want enough vehicles produced so that we can get decent support in the aftermarket field and so that in the future when we need parts they are available. I tend to keep my vehicles for a long time and want to have parts support. I know that we will be OK on many parts because they are the same as the regular 3 but many such as brakes, suspension components etc may not interchange. How about clutches, flywheels, etc... Some of these may swap with CX7 maybe?

Mazdaspeed rx-8?!?!?!?!?!(nailbyt)

MazdaSpeeds are only built for a two year time frame! Period.

The next Speed model is the Miata...supposedly to have the same engine as our 3's. Now that is going to one squirly little car!

A Miata would have an insane power to weight ratio if it got the MS3 motor. I would imagine it would flat out embrass it's competition if Mazda does it right.

I have it on good authority it will be the MX-5 w/DISI motor. Also, the 3 will be getting a makeover soon.

i wanted an 08 miata badd before i got the speed3 ... being 5'11 and having the top squish in my hair was no good. Damm car was made for small Japanese people. All in all im happy with my ms3.

I've been driving around an RX-8 lately and love the rotary engine it's so smooth! I'm not so sure I would feel the same way about it if it were turboed. I know it would be more powerful of course; but I think it would be better if Mazda made it more powerful while keeping it N/A and keeping it rotary powered of course.

The RX-8 is actually a little quicker than I thought it would be as long as you keep the revs up there.

I heard from the dealer on saturday, when I picked up my MS3, that the next will be the miata again but with our engine.

But then again it could just be someone bs'n

i heard it was a miata with a DISI engine, but not direct swap from the ms3, it woul probably be a 2.0 L
