Ok so I have searched an read that JDM cams are no good since they are meant for a N/A motor. But what about Mazdaspeed Camshafts? I havent been able to find much on them, but they look promising. Has anyone ever tried these before? I was also curious about the SR cam gears. I know they had fitment problems a year or so ago but does anyone know if they updated the design? Here is where I found them

They are a bit more than halfway down under MazdaSpeed Cams & Cam Gear Package. Any info would be appreciated.

The Mazdaspeed in the US has the same cams as the regular models here. I'm not sure what you are refering to as "Mazdaspeed cams".

The Japanese intake cam is the only difference, not the exhaust. The MPS (limited quantity model) had a different exhaust cam also. Those are no longer available however.

The Japanese car is non-turbo, yes. But they are not aftermarket tuned cams for NA design. Just as the Mazdaspeed runs with "NA" cams if you went with that same thinking.

I have yet to get any sort of figures on what valve timing adjustment will actually do for these engines.

Well on that link, it shows a set of Mazdaspeed camshafts. I am not sure if those are a set of cams off a Mazdaspeed Protege or upgraded cams from Mazdaspeed.

That's been confusing people for years.... Those are just the Japanese cams.

There's never been a "Mazdaspeed camshaft" made other than the one from the MPS (Mazda Performance Series I think it stood for). The intake cam is the same in all Japanese FS 2.0L engines.
