Mazdaspeed CAI question

I currently have a Cobb SRI but was looking to move to a CAI as it gets warmer. For those of you who got the new intake from Mazda.... Does it have a air flow straightener? How hard is it to install?

Straightener = yes. Install hard = no.

There are threads, including pictures and pdf copies of install manuals you should find with a search.

The MSCAI is a very well designed product that will produce a nice gain.

They have also pulled version 2 off of the market. Found that out a few weeks ago when I tried to find one. One of the forum vendors told me it had something to to with the included paperwork being wrong, and that Mazda is working on it.

Version 2 seems not to be available at the moment. The reason remains obscure. Someone said (yeah that "someone said" thing), that Mazda rushed it out of the door without the C.A.R.B. sticker, and someone else said it was the install instructions.

There is no issue regarding its design or construction, as it is simply a Mazdaspeed labeled AEM CAI. It is an excellent product.

Mazda has different angles for the straightener than AEM (designer/manufacturer) does. That could be one thing on the install instruction. Everything else on the install sheet is accurate.

anyone know the cheapest place to find one (not used)?

dealer would be like $399, an unmentionable website has it for $357, and i only see AEM on protegegarage

maybe a PM so as not to alert the bigwigs?
