Mazdaspeed 3 T-shirt?

Haven't seen any, myself. Most of the ones I see are "Mazdaspeed" and not "3" specific.

I do have a good friend who's a professional graphic artist. He designs t-shirts for MINI clubs and events all over the country. So he's pretty busy. But I bet if we came up with a solid concept, I could sweet talk him into working it up for us if there's enough interest in the shirts. For the MINI clubs, he usually requires a 25-shirt order to begin having them made.

If I got him to work something up for us, could we run a quick & dirty group buy here on the site, or would I have to get him to register as a vendor & so forth? (With the MINI clubs, he usually sends the entire order to one person & lets them ship the individual shirts or hand them out in person, etc.)

Worth pursuing, or let it go?

I saw one that was just like the I <3 my MS3 sticker but I have no idea where I saw it. I'd be down for one though!

i got 2 Tshirts from a Chinese woman off eBay. i think she runs a graphic/Tshirt business out of the home. the design is a silouette of an MS3 and below it 'i love my mazdaspeed3' and the 'o' is replaced by a heart. awwww.....(kiss)

unfortunately it's been 1.5 yrs since i got em, and don't remember the seller ID. i bet there's someone out there in fleabay land that still makes to-order shirts & designs. i'll be more than glad to go in a group buy through Bill, esp if his buddy can come up w/ a cool design.

I'll e-mail my friend and see if he's interested, or can be talked into, a small T-shirt design project for us.

What sort of design elements would people like to see? He may or may not be able to use the actual Mazdaspeed logo/font, and/or Zoom Zoom. Got any objects, themes, or catch phrases to incorporate?

And what about shirt color? It's always easiest to do a single color, so he doesn't have to worry about design colors not standing out against certain background colors. White, black, heather grey?

im in and i vote for a black shirt. being a mechanic even if im clean i can put a hurting on white t shirts. plus black matches the car!!!!

i bought one of these w/ the classic mazda emblem. think this should be our emblem to set speeds apart.

My friend Craig already replied that he can do this for us. I'm going to collect some pics of MS3's for him to base his artwork on, and of course, we need to feed him some general ideas as to what we'd be interested in seeing on the shirt.

So let's get the ideas flowing. Do we want "action" art of MS3's on twisty roads, at the drag strip? Silhouette of some sort, or more detail? I know everyone would want to see their color MS3 depicted, but is any one color considered "iconic" or somehow the "default?" (I would think it'd be the Red)

Something else to consider... the shirts he has made for the MINI clubs often have a small logo on the chest, and larger artwork on back. We can do that, or we can go for something larger up front, with or without back art.

Also, I will double check pricing with him, but the last run of MINI shirts we did cost $17 including shipping for Small to XL, $19 for XXL, $21 for XXXL. (Gildan brand Ultra Cotton shirts) That's shipped in a case from him to me, then me repackaging & shipping them out to individual recipients- there's no profit involved. He does have access to other shirt styles- polos, checkered collar or sleeve accent, etc. Minimum order has always been 25, and I would think that would apply here as well.

Black T-shirt with a TR speed3 would be cool... IMO I like the logo on front, graphic on back idea. I wouldn't be opposed to artwork on the front and nothing on the back though.

How 'bout a more action-y design... something like twisty roads; like it's going through Deal's Gap.

Heck, he could whip that up in 5 minutes. He's designed the shirts for 6-8 MINI events at Deal's Gap since 2004.

If we use the classic Mazda logo suggested by Karl Hungus, maybe we could get him to integrate a 3 into it and make that the front logo? And that logo looks so 60's, I'd be half tempted to have him mock up a "Speed Racer Mach 5 MS3" to go with it.

I also had a humorous idea, but don't know if it would go over well...

The Mazdaspeed3. It hauls...

A. (Pic of groceries)
B. (Pic of kids)
C. (Pic of a mule/ass)
D. All of the above

(Obviously with a big check mark on "D")

Could put all that on the back with a MS3 image to the right of the answers, or used as a background, etc. Or could put the first line on front and only the answers on back, maybe with the car image above.

Thoughts?

Another vein I'm thinking along is the snappy answer to everyone who says "Oh yeah, my neighbor has one of those..." I just need the right snappy answer to go on a t-shirt. Kain? This is your department.

i think a black shirt with a white Silhouette with MazdaSpeed3 under it would be cool. Can you post up some pics or a link to what youre buddy has down for the mini groups and that way we can get an idea of what it could look like?

+1 on the link or pics.

i've always like the cartoonish drawing of different cars on t-shirts.... or maybe someone can do a "miniature" ms3 that people do with photoshop.... i'm sure ya'll have seen them before.....

I actually started looking for pics of the MINI shirts he has done, and could not find any. Looks like most of the links were taken down after the group buys were done.

I'll just whip out some of the dozens of his shirts that I own and take pics of them myself. I have so many, I put a bunch of the older ones in storage.

OK, took pics this morning after work. I'll post a few favorite designs below, but the link to the full gallery is: HERE

I think your multiple choice suggestion is hilarious, and I'm at a loss to come up with one better. The best I can do for a catchy phrase is Turbo Laggin' Wagon. (ughdance)

Can we also get secret decoder rings made for our secret club bi-monthly newsletter?

How about we do something like this:

If I buy this shirt, will I look as cool as this guy?

I think I would like the cartoonized "wildchild" image centered on the back as a large image, with a smaller field below it with:

Hauls:
A) B) C) D)

With small images/words as described previously for the answers across the back.

On the front, the letters MS3 where the pocket should be, maybe with the three just a little oversized, so that the bottom end of the 3 is shooting flames (like an exhaust) under the "MS" like an underline.
