Mazdaspeed #3 Engine mount install..

I'm going to have to give this mount a try. It sounds like a much better solution than the AWR mounts. AWR makes good stuff, but it's not refined enough for daily driven cars IMO.

i daily drive my MP3 with no problem. ya there is a little more vibration then normal, but you get use to it.

Yeah, I mean i'm sure the AWR mounts are tolerable for most people, but after riding around in my old RX-7s with solid welded motor mounts and a racing beat engine torque brace, i've had enough buzzing and vibrating. It never used to bother me except for long trips that were several hours long and during long commutes. That's why I'm thinking that the Mazdaspeed motor mount might be better for me.

After all, I had to swap out several parts just to be content with my AWR sway bar setup...but that's a whole different story.

Hey all, I am almost 100% sure my Poly inserts will work with the front mount. That alone will make a noticable difference. The only question is whether my rear inserts will work with the MP3... Anyone willing to try and report the results....

Please suggest someone reliable, and I will send him some free inserts.

Hey Rafi,
My car's going to AEBS in a few weeksthey can just throw them in while they're doing the rest of the work.
What do you think?

I'm considering new mounts, so I would be willing to try these as well if you need someone, but I would guess you have enough offers now.

bump

I got this mount. It looks NO different than the "normal" one. Same deal and to my highly calibrated hands, there is no difference in stiffness. Looks like a big waste of money. NOT HAPPY!

Any word on inserts?

Does anyone have any photo's of the #3 mount ,
both in and out of the car ...
close up shots...
I need to take a look at this mount.

Little Beavis - You got the #3 mount? Can you show us pics? You should have gone w/ the #2 mount. WE NEED POLY INSERTS FOR ALL OF OUR MOUNTS, ESPECIALLY THE #3!!!!!

There is absolutely no difference between the stock and the "Mazdaspeed" #3 that I can see, feel, taste, smell, or hear.

Check it out.

"Mazdaspeed" on the left with the blue dot. Stock on the right. Stock is a little dirty and a little "loose" but even the codes formed into the rubber are the same in every detail. B26K with a date code on the back. No difference anywhere. . .$145 down the drain! (Special order part!)

Have you tried the mount on your car? I just bought the #3 mount as well and was told the only difference was the compound of the rubber used. When I push on both of them the mazdaspeed one was harder to push.
Here is a quote from another user of the mount from another board.

I just installed the MazdaSpeed #3 engine mount today... wow, what a difference it makes to the vehicle's dynamics! Heel and toeing to 1st gear never has been easier! No more lurch and bunny hopping on first! Well, there's still some if you jab on the throttle, but that's a "normal" thing for a torquey manual tranny car Chirping 2nd is so easy now; I couldn't before because of how grippy concrete roads can be. Chirping 3rd happens now if I don't go easy on the car too!

The #3 engine mount is the mount at the passenger (right) side of the car. This mount was changed on the MSP to handle the higher power output. Comparing the MazdaSpeed mount and the stock mount is like night and day. The stock mount flops around, but on the MazdaSpeed mount, it takes muscle power to actually get it to move a bit!

The mount is identified by a blue paint dot on the metal bracket and the rubber piece. The stock mount has a white paint dot instead. This MazdaSpeed mount also has a "B26K" stamped on the rubber.

This mount makes a difference and offsets the load caused to the #2 (front) engine mount by preventing the engine from shifting back and forth unevenly at different rates (in otherwords, the engine likes to twist side to side in addition to the normal back and forth motion). Now that everything is stable on the car, transitioning into a corner is MUCH easier and I find myself from braking, entering, and exiting a corner process MUCH faster. And the beauty to this mount is, I don't have to put up with shaking my fillings loose with urethane mounts!

The part number is BP7H-39-06Y btw... and it costs just the same as what the POS stock mount will cost... about $140 retail... NOTE: it will ONLY fit 2.0l manual cars!
