Mazdaspeed 3 delivery time frame?

I've been working with a local NW Chicago dealer about a Mazdaspeed 3 GT, cosmic blue and he is telling me that it's going to take 4-6 for delivery, maybe more? We settled on a price and I gave him a deposit to start the process.

Is the Madzaspeed 3 supply that tight or is he using it to negotiate???

What has been other experience with delivery times?

Oak lawn mazda just had a red GT a few days ago,They still may have it..They had 3 on the lot 5 weeks ago.

I've seen a red locally, but I want the cosmic blue. Now the dealer needs to follow up and get one from another deal in 11 states.

You know the blue is not as fast as the red and black micas......

it took mine 8 weeks to get here. they have to build it then ship it from japan to the port in the us. then its trucked to your dealer.

my 06 3 and my speed3 took the same time to arrive. so i would say for once the dealer is not lying to you.(lol2)

I ordered mine in March... I still don't have a VIN number but it was supposed to start the build first week of April. I'm not expecting it till late May early June at this point.

I ordered mine in mid january and got it in late march. It takes a while and they don't seem to have a real good idea. Mine arrived in port in Tacoma, WA, then went by rail to some great lakes state. Then by truck to my dealer. You can see it online when it gets to Tacoma. Otherwise, its just a matter of reading this website everyday for several hours.

btw, you can check inventory on the mazda site, but lots of those are already "on order" like the one you got.

I ordered mine in late October, the car got built on November 9, and the car was delivered to the dealer on December 29, 2006. I guess mine took about two months. ^_^

It sounds like 4-6 weeks is about right. It's been getting good press and limited #'s makes it a hot car.

I hate to see my blue 2002 Protege 5 go, but I cannot wait to upgrade to MazdaSpeed!!!

How were you tracking the car?

4-6 sounds about right. More than likely it's in port in LA or Seattle. If it's at another dealer they are just waiting for a truck to come by thats heading your way.
I know the my dealer had 2 Cosmics in last time I was there, but as far as tight demand it should be getting tighter as the days tick by.

First post.

I just made an order today with my local dealer for an '08. Delivery time: 100 Days. I'm getting a blue with nav and there aren't any in Central FL. The dealer didn't have any info on the '08s yet, but they were taking orders on the assumption that they would be unchanged. They said if the color rumor is true I'll be able to make a change within the next month or two, before it gets built.

I was told supply is getting tight and they weren't expecting to get any more blues in. Who knows if that's true.

the mazda dealership in Evanston had at least 5 some weeks ago. They seem to be regularly stocked with the car.

I'm going to hold out for a cosmic blue and not switch colors. Seems to be a few black MS3 GT around the area and I can tell the dealer would like to make a easier deal.

I'm going to be patient, as difficult as it is...

I'm in the same boat. There are a couple of Black Mica's with Navi in the area that my dealer could probably get for me but I'm thinking it would be better to wait an extra couple of months and find out what new colors will be available. My first choice is Silver then Black but maybe they'll be another color that will appeal to me. Arrgh. It is very hard to wait. At least when you order one it's yours off the bat and no one except you will have driven it.

It is tough though.
