Mazda5 Sightings...

I saw my first one (phantom blue) at the Grand Canyon three weeks ago. I pointed and waved like an idiot. My family was mortified :).

Last week I finally saw one actually driving around town (Denver area) - silver with a bike rack. It looked great with the rack, I think I need one. I refrained from acting like an idiot that time.

Ha, ha, ha,

So far, I've only seen three other Mazda5's on the road and only one close enough to wave at. But I think we (both drivers) was so surprised to see another 5, we just stared at each other as we drove past each other in the parking lot.

:)

well, me and mom both bought one, so I dunno if that counts.

I saw one in a parking lot of a convenience store around the block from Mom's house and one parked on the side of the road in Worcester. I have yet to see another moving one, or another one with a driver in it.

I did the same thing, only the driver of the other 5 didn't see me so I honked the horn a bunch. That got his attention. He looked at me with a sort of scared and confused look.(hand) I felt like an idiot!

I've seen 3 on the road around Orlando since last September...and 1 in a parking lot in Jacksonville. At the dealership (Fairbanks) in March there were about 20 on the lot.

prulex- you an Orlandian? I live in Orlando, one 5 drove past my house about 2 weeks ago I about shat myself. I saw two 5s on I-4 before I bought my 5, and saw another two about 1 month ago. So there are at least 6 5s in Orlando that I've seen out.

That I am...for the last 3 years anyway. I've seen two on I-4 going through downtown during rush hour, and one coming out of a neighborhood by my house in Dr. Phillips. I do a definite double take every time I see one.

There aren't too many here in NH either. When we bought ours at IRA in Mass. they probably had 10 on the lot. I did just see a black one the other day, and a red one about a month ago. Other than that there is another platinum we usually see every week . He usually waves like crazy when he sees us. (drive2)

Back in November or so I saw a white pearly parked at a TigerDirect store (driver in store). There was an open spot right beside him so I parked my pearly white right beside him too and I also went into the store.

Too bad I missed the driver as half-hour later, the car was gone. I would have liked to see the look on their face!!

In a similar scenario, I drove into a plaza where a phantom blue was parked and I parked right beside them. Again, I didn't get a chance to see the other driver's reaction when they left.

Next time you guys park somewhere and a white pearl pulls up beside you... be forewarned.... it could be ME

I live in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex and do a TON of driving. I've only seen one EVER! It was the red one going north on 360 about 2 weeks ago. I really like the way they look.

Going to look at a carbon gray one tomorrow.

Matt

2 today in NV. came up on one doing 140k and the guy driving kept on cruising along @ 100k. shame on you for driving your 5 so slow.;) I seems that I'll go a week or so w/o seeing any and then one day, ususally in the span of 5mins, i'll see 2 or 3. weird.

Saw one today... I was going up the garden state parkway heading north in my strato blue 5 (Rasta Wagon).... and saw a red/burgondy one going south on the parkway... near the nj/ny border... Wooo Hooo!!!

I am in Austin, TX for business and saw one about 5 minutes after I left the airport. I started to do the idiotic point and wave routine but then remembered I wasn't in my car. I'm wondering if it was a rental since they had a number of 3s sitting around. I got a P.T. Cruiser which has been interesting since people compare the 5's to them. So far, not impressed (well, the clock is cute).

I finally saw another one... moving ...a red one, didn't think to see if it was a Touring or Sport or if it had RI or MA or CT plates (pretty close to all three, in fact, I drove in all three before I saw this one). It was on route 102, heading South(?) between 146 and 7, so I guess that's North Smithfield, RI. I waved at the last second, but I don't think they saw me.

wait..how can you tell the difference between the touring and sports? the tourings have the ground effects, or "side moldings" whatever you want to call them.

IIRC the touring has body colored side mirrors where as the sport has black side mirror bodies.

Just got back from a trip down to South Carolina. Put about 2500 miles on the 5, and only saw 2 other 5s the whole trip. One was a platinum silver, just like ours, in Beaufort, SC, and saw a red one in Hilton Head.
Then on my way to work today, I saw a Platinum Silver Sport.

I live in northern california and I've only seen three 5s on the road. I sometimes get looks from people trying to figure what I'm driving.
