Mazda5: Prices paid and related questions

sound a bit expensive! If you will not use the car often afterward, why you pay $20,000 more ? Change the parts cost you only 2,000 , better than owing a debt $20,000 MORE.

Just bought (5/2011) a 2007 Mazda5 Touring from a dealer for $14,500 out the door. We love it so far - sold a 2006 Ford Freestyle Limited. Wanted a smaller, lighter vehicle with the same cargo ability and better gas mileage.

Bought my 2007 Mazda5 Touring this past February for $13,200. It only had 21,600 miles on it. Needed a little more space for my family. We have a daughter that is turning 2. Im having the best time with the 5 so far!

It is hard to compare/evaluate used car purchases since they are many factors that affect the car's value: title condition, previous fleet history, previous accident history, mechanical/body condition.

Purchased May 2011 from original owner with service history, but has some minor body damage (scrapes).

Greetings all. I'm posting about my 2nd Mazda5 -- I bought a 2009 Touring for my wife, and she loves it. I love it too, so I went out yesterday and picked up:

Year: 2012
Location: Washington DC Metro area
Trim: Sport
Tranny: Manual
Any extra accessories: Thule roof rack
Sale Tax Rate: %5
Price you paid for your Mazda5(including tax, title, fees): 17780 before taxes & fees, 19980 after

Looking forward to talking to everyone here!

Traded for a '10 sport with 12k miles, dealer was asking 15,900 +tags and taxes, I was pleased with the price and they did haggle on the trade in till I was satisfied. With the gas savings over our trade in, the difference we paid will wash out after 120,000 miles or less if gas keeps going up, and I hope it will have another 100,000 miles left in it.

Can't complain about that price, how many miles?

Yay manual! Welcome and introduce yourself in the Lounge and post photos of your new ride!

Just picked up a 2009 Touring with 44k miles, for 17.4k OTD in Tucson AZ.

About the same miles and $$$ I paid for my 2007 GT non Lux Package (Touring equivalent) in 2009. :)

200,000 miles easy! I did the same thing as well, haggled the price of my trade in rather than the price of the car.

24,411 miles. No complaints here. The owner's daily driver is a Ferrari 599 (I think, they look alike to me) and lives in the Hamptons. The Mz5 was his work car, which he wanted to trade-in for a 4WD (winters). He's an avid driver and only prefer manual cars -so much so that in the 24K miles, he almost put a hole in the driver side floor mat! Maybe he wears pointy boots with spurs or more likely the OEM mats are POOR quality! Funny that he's been trying to sell it for 3 week without a single interest b/c not many people who look at Mz5 are looking for a manual -until I came along :D

OEM mats are poor quality. :) I guess everyone here loves Weathertech mats. Do you know which car he was getting? Not many 4WD manuals left... Subarus, Suzuki SX-4, Toyota Tacoma, Nissan Xterra and Frontier to name a few.

Didn't recognize your name at first, welcome Dib07CE from 9thgencorolla. :)

Thinking about getting the 2012 5 in a manual. Currently driving the 2009 5 manual but wondering if I should upgrade to a bit more power and stability. only got 15k miles on it. What are ppl paying for 2012 manuals?

Hi.

Picking up my new 2012 Mazda5 Touring in Copper Red Mica on Saturday morning, paid $20.5K (added all-weather mats & rear bumper protector). TrueCar pricing was $19.8K, but the closest dealer offering that was 250 miles away; also, their only color options were silver or black.

Anyway, can't wait to pick it up!

touring

dealer has a 2010 touring 7k miles for 18,995. What would be a good price to get this car for?

Also, if buying a 2012 sport, what would be a good price?

I don't think that's a real good price, to be honest, considering TrueCar/Overstock.com pricing for a new 2012 Touring in my area (Pacific Northwest) is $19,843. A 2012 Sport comes out at $17,973.

You should plug in your local zip to the TrueCar pricing website and see what you get. Though I ultimately didn't use it for my purchase (couldn't get the color combo I wanted at that price), I was able to print out the offer and use it to negotiate w/the dealer I eventually used. Another helpful option/tool is Costco's car buying program; again, you can use the offer you get via them to negotiate w/non-program dealers.

It looks like TrueCar pricing in Austin & Houston is substantially higher than up here: $19,175 for a manual Sport and $21,068 for a Touring.
