Mazda Rev-It-Up Protege Owners Ranking

list updated.

Mazda6's are surprisingly agile, but the extra weight compared to a Protege rears its ugly head when you overdrive the car in a corner (like i did :( )

CBCBD = Douglas Seitz :D

I'm sorry to see that Scapamouche's national ranking dropped to 6th after some guy in the NY event got a 858!

1st time autoxing!! My friends and I are hooked!!!! :D

list updated :)

Congratulations to Andy (Scapamouche) as the only member here that will be going to Leguna Seca to compete in the finals, GREAT JOB!

I'll be at Laguna Seca (in the crowd LOL) to cheer for any listers..

Andy..kick some ASS for us (I know you will)

I'd like to try this again..anyone know if they are doing this next year?

I doubt it, even though I asked them to on the feedback sheet (and got a free Rev-it-up hat!!!).

The 6 was a big new release this year, so this event was really geared to get people in 6s - I'm pretty sure it would've been cheaper to just put people in a bunch of Proteges for the competition, but that's not the car they wanted to sell.
-And also to get Mazda's name out there, I had even seen a commercial for the Rev-it-up on Speed!!

I'm afraid this will be the last event of this kind for a while :(

That was a kickass event and I'm happy to say that I kicked my friends' asses in both competition runs and both practice course runs :D

On the website, MRIU is already talking about prereg for another RIU next year. The obvious implication is that they will do it all again...

Thanks to all for the support! I'll definitely do the best I can...

hey andy, i heard they gonna let you fools loose on the main track...

the corkscrew, mmmmmmmm *drools*

ok list updated, for the FINAL TIME!!!!

the list has grown long enough that I've put in into a html page instead of a gif file.

no more entries! see you next year!!!

have fun!!!!

Since the MRIU sitte is pretty slow, I thought I'd post up how I did:

I finished 10th overall, and I made it into the semi finals against a VERY impressive field of people.

I am VERY happy with that result: I did not expect to get into the second round...

The format of the event was as follows:

4 cars were driven in the finals, with each driver running ALL FOUR cars in each round. We got two runs in each car and the best run in each car was totalled together for the overall score. I got into the second round by being consistent: I ran within .02 in three cars, and .2 sec quicker in the 4th car. I was 8th out of the 20 in the forst round, but I didn't do so well in the semis, so I was last of the semis people.

Mark Daddio, the "Alien" won overall. In a field where only four other drivers had ANY runs in the 35s, and only one of them had more than one, Mark had a 35 in EVERY CAR ON EVERY ROUND except the last one, after the event was effectively over, and even then, he was faster than ANY of my runs...

Saturday was a fun day: We drive a relay race which my team won, and we had a "beat the pro" challenge where the guy who set all the indexes for the entire series set a mark and we tried to beat him. The cool part was that we drove RX8s!!!!! They ROCK!!!!!! I really want one, now... I managed to spin out on my best run, so I didn't beat the Pro. Mark DID, though... His prize is the chance to SET THE INDEX at one of next year's MRIU events.

The rumors for next year at the finals implied that there WOULD be an event next year, and the car will be the new Mazda 3....

Keep your eyes open for next year!!!! :)

congrats on a top-10 finish andy!

oooh, the Mazda3 will be used for next year's Rev It Up? that'll stir up more participation from members of THIS forum!!!!!

see you all next year!
