Not true. My s-techs gave me an increased response over stock, with the drop

tein s-techs are the only aftermarket spring that lowers the protege to the "ideal" performance ride height for the chassis. (lower control arms parallel to the ground) they also provide proper increase in stiffness to prevent bottoming out. you need to match them with proper struts when installing, though, which most people dont.

There is another set of springs that do it... but they're stupid rare, and I wish I never sold them. Mazdaspeed B-Specs.

Yeah... but as far as I know, there are only 6 or 7 sets stateside, so forgetting about those really isn't a problem. Haha.

i always read stech's are for show. what do you think? also, here's an interesting thread: http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/showthread.php?22716-Review-Tein-S-Tech-s-on-the-my-MP3

i would be VERY surprised if the s-techs were not as stiff (or stiffer) than the stock MP3 springs.

i stand by my comment that the stechs are THE performance spring for the 3rd gen cars. BUT, they need to be paired with a good set of aftermarket struts. unfortuantely, there is a lack of good struts to be used with the stechs. the only option i would consider with them is the illuminas.

i have had nothing but luck with teins and blues.

also, isnt the eibach pro kit an ideal drop, or thereabouts?

those are still a little bit high, and they are too soft.

for the 3rd gens, you want the front to sit at about 12.25" and the rear to sit at about 12.75". ( 0.25") measurements are from the fender to the wheel center, which is the proper way to measure ride height.

I have the S-Techs on my car now after selling the B-Specs. I have them on Tokico Blues and find them to be almost as good as my B-specs were in a spirited driving situation. A little softer, but still rather high spring rate.
