Press Release about a Nov 2019 announcement.
I just received this in an email from Mazda. Didn't find it posted elsewhere.

If it's a dupe, I'll have sm1ke delete the thread.

For the fifth consecutive year, Mazda has been awarded the “Best Car Brand” by U.S. News & World Report. Mazda won this car class on the strength of its class leading Mazda3, Mazda6 and Mazda MX-5 Miata.

Mazda sure gets a lot of good press for a small company that's off the radar screen of most American car buyers.

AJAC also awarded 2020's Best Small Car in Canada to the Mazda3. I wonder how the brand gets all this good press, but still doesn't sell very well. Hopefully this news gets the needle moving for the 3, 6, and Miata.

Especially considering how few of those cars it sells.
That's what caught my eye.

The article references other models, but...
-Mazda 3 sold 51,000 units in 2019
-Mazda 6 sold 22,000 units in 2019
-Mazda MX-5 sold 8,000 units in 2019

Other models were mentioned, but these 3 are almost "boutique" status.

By contrast, the CX-5 sells nearly twice as many as all three combined (155,000), which is still a low figure by industry standards, but it's Mazda's #1 seller.

Mazda is also the most safest in terms of virtually every model being highly rated by IIHS. Something to consider for those wanted to get a new cheap reliable yet safe car for a teenager.
