So I read somewhere that mazda motorsports is offering the MS3 MazdaSpeed CAI for $220
Problem is, in order to view their page you have to register and registering requires you to click a button that says "I race within the United States, Canada...etc"
If I recall correctly, this sounds like what Mitsubishi did with new EvoVII owners. When they bought the car they gave them a free membership to an autocross group, then went back and cross-referenced autocross members with their current owners list and automatically voided the warranty for anyone who entered their car in competition. There was some sort of fine print where if the car was used for any sort of competition the warrenty was void whether or not they could prove the competiton damaged whatever part.

(which also means that I'm in EMS and can't add lights to my car)
With that said, has anyone looked into the legal issues of saying "I competitively race my car" when attempting to get warranty service for their MS3? If that's the case, the cost savings are negligible since the main reason for the mazdaspeed CAI is to maintain the warranty with no questions asked.
One last item -- assuming that saying "I race" is legal grounds for voiding the warrenty and assuming someone has already registered.... is anyone willing to bite the bullet and get a couple intakes for members?
