Mazda in the Mountains 2006

Wow, ive been out of it for a while. Would love to go to this years MITM. It was a blast last year. If its in August i will have my AFC II in~

Hi all,

Just wondering if any more has been decided on this or not. Some of my people at mx-west are wondering when they should be booking time off in August. Personally I'm thinking we may be able to pull it off better in early September. Kids back in school, weathers still nice... Curious though if Sylvan/Gull lake is still being considered, or maybe something different like Dinosaur provincial. Anyway, email me at launchpd@telusplanet.net if anyone has any ideas or wants any MX3 opinions (2thumbs)

^^hmm...there's a thought. Sept would be nice. After mazda madness and plus I think a few more members would be able to make it from bcmazda3.

it's getting kinda close and with my work schedule on 12 hour shifts, it's hard for me to pull a day off with short notice.

I kinda agree with Mark, mid to end of septenber would be a great time ot wind down the car season...

I agree also... i might be able to make it if its that time frame! Fire season should have slowed down by then

Why don't we just have it at the same location as last year (in the Bow Valley area at the Whitefish lot)? That seemed like a nice spot. As long as there isn't a big tour bus parked in the middle this time. It would just be nice to have something figured out before it ends up being "Mazda in the Snow Drifts". We can do the usual premeet at COP in the late morning and then convoy out to Bow Valley. Maybe we can plan for September 2nd.

rofl at the "Mazda in the Snow Drifts" (rlaugh)... Bow Valley was a great location last year.

I'm definitely game for this - I was really hoping this would still happen this summer, it was such a great time last year. If that's the date, I'll be sure to book that weekend off my second job. It's a month away, we can make it happen yet!

I've already got plans that weekend... always next year!

Alright! Sounds good guys! So let's write it in stone and spread the word around. We need to make sure everyone has this marked on their calendar and books any appropriate time off from work.

Mazda in the Mountains 2006
Saturday, September 2nd

Pre-meet location - Canada Olympic Park @ 11:30am
Depart for Cruise to Bowvalley @ 12:30pm
MITM at Bowvalley (Whitefish location) 1:30pm to around 4:00pm

If people want to do other things after Bowvalley, it can be desided at the meet. For those that have never been to that location. There is a bit of a private parking area for all the Mazdas. Along the side there is a nice strip of grass for anyone wanting to have a little picnick or just sit and chill. The lot runs along the edge of river and if anyone wants to take a nice chilly dip is more than welcome to. There is an excellent view of nearby Mount Yamnuska which goes with the MITM theme perfectly.

Click here for a map of the Bow Valley area. (Look for Whitefish)

This is the plan then? I'll update the Mazda6 Club if someone hasn't already that is.

Thanks guys for doin' this... it was fun last year!

Sounds great! I'll be there, and maybe I can convince more of the local crowd to come along this time. Wish me luck guys!!

Yes..since someone else is planning it...they better be prepared for the "hidden" turn off
