I just received my new aluminum pedals from Mazda today. I cannot believe I paid 70 $ for that. They are all plastic pieces of sh. Don't buy them. They look so bad that I thought they made a mistake on the part number. I just went back on the web site to verify and they didn't. I really have the right part. Here is what is posted on the web: "Add the racer-look to your new Mazda3. Made of high quality aluminum. Available for automatic and manual transmission vehicles."

"Made of high quality aluminum" my ass. Anyway, I will bring them back to the dealer monday and order a set of sparco GRIP (part number 03787BRI).

Does someone know if it will fit without problem in my 3?

Thanks

Are they actually plastic?
I've been trying to get these from the dealer here in Canada, but aparently Mazda Canada doesn't know what they are. (Canadian website doesn't have any accessories listed)

they're a mix of plastic and aluminum (more plasitic than not). I got them and I kind of like them, granted they're not momo, sparco, etc. here's a pic (auto, so don't make fun...) Not the best, but I like them better than the standard pedals.

How bout the fit?
I understand they just snap on? is this correct?
Do they fit snug enough to never fall off by themselves?

I don't think they will be good for the winter. I would not try to drive with them during the winter. I'm maybe living in Florida now but I was living in Quebec before so I know what is snow and cold weather.

The little lines you see in the picture sent by dannyboy are not rubber. They are plastic. It will get very slippery during the winter. I bet they are even slippery just when it rains. Maybe dannyboy can give you a better idea on how they feel in bad weather.

I haven't had any problems with slippery pedals, even when wet. I don't forsee any problems this winter but if I have any, I'll let you guys know.

edit: moved to Appearance forum.

I exchanged the pedals

Hi, I exchanged the pedals today and ordered the Instrument Panel Decorative Trim in blue instead. The exterior of the car is blue so it should look pretty sharp. I just hope that the pictures I saw were right and it will have the carbon fiber pattern on the part.

I will try to post some pictures (I don't have a digital camera) when it will be installed. If the part looks bad I will tell you too.

If anybody's interested in pedals, for a little extra cash I got some great custom pedals from ultimatepedals.com. Would definitely recommend to anybody.

What was the part number on those Mazda pedals? I've been looking for some and this is what I came across for OEM Mazda pedals:

The part number is 0000-8R-L02.

They don't look at all like the picture you have. If you look at bluntman post in this thread and click on the link, you will end up in another thread where you can see very good pictures of the pedals.

If they were like the picture you have, they would already be installed on my car. Those on your picture are very nice.

Well if you check out the following website, that's what they sell as OEM pedals.

If it's those crapy plastic ones, I would pass too.

You have to be very careful with that site look at what I found on their FAQ:

"Does the photograph show the exact item that I will be receiving?
Many photos of items are generic. They are for general reference. Your actual item may look different than the picture in the catalog."

The part number on their website is the same as the number on the part I received which probably means that they don't show a picture of the real part.
