Mazda 6 2008 Engine check light

Hi,

I have an aftermarket HID kit installed in my car. On a long trip the engine check lights up and the car starts to use a lot of gas and the exhaust looks like it's running on diesel. When i came back from the trip, i took it to the shop. Now the funny thing is that the shop tells me that these faults is due to the aftermarket HID xenon kit, because the xenon kit should have made some "noise" on the CAN BUS. Have anyone had the same problem ?

what??? thats some BS from the shop..

I'd recommend taking it to Autozone or any parts store and have them pull the code. my guess is probably an o2 sensor needs replaced...

my thought exactly, but the the shop insists that it's due to the xenon kit. I have a printout of the fault codes, and they also indicates a fault on the o2 sensor. I would think that if the shop was right, there would fault on a lot of other things than only the o2 sensor and the lambda probe
