Mazda 323F radio code (philips radio)

Hi!

First of all, I'm sorry if my english is not correct, english is my second language.

I recently bought a used Mazda 323F from -97. I love everything about it, but there is one problem- the radio does not work. It is a philips radio, I guess its the original radio of the car (don't know the serial number, I guess it's located on the back of the radio and I haven't had the time to remove it yet). There is something written about ECN-RDS 701 on the radio in case that helps somebody to identify it. Every time I switch the radio on it ask for the anti-theft code, but the previous owner does not remember the code. I also don't have the manual for the radio.

Does anybody in here know how to reset the radio so that I can change the code?

I read some instructions around here on how to do this on other mazdas, but I'm not sure what buttons to press since they are not labelled the same as those in the instructions. Those manuals say to press scan, AM/FM, Auto-M and seek up, one of them also mentions FM1/2. I'm not sure which are the scan, AM/FM, FM1/2 or auto-m buttons on my radio because they are labelled differently (my radio has lables like FAD, CFF, BAND/MAN, TA/MUTE, AST/DX and AF/REG, and I'm just too technologically ignorant to know what these labels mean). I'm sorry if this sounds really stupid.. (freak) But maybe somebody out there know how to reset this radio and know of the code so I won't have to buy a new radio?

Hey there!
In this situation, your best bet is to take the car to your local or nearest Dealership and have them reset the stereo. Thats the best thing you can do.

Also, your english is spot on and very understandable. ;)
