Mazda 3 transmission or clutch problems???

I hope this is not a double post i searched and could not find this problem anywhere.

My cars problem seems to be with the transmission or clutch. It is a Mazda 3 manual transmission with about 50,000 miles in 3 years. Every time that I shift gears I can hear what sound like something hitting the wheel well of the passenger side front tire area. When the car is in second gear and a let off the gas and then push on the gas at low rpm I can hear what sounds like metal hitting each other like a ding sound only once every time i do this (this noise also coming from the front passenger wheel well). Some times while letting off the gas when I come up to a stop sign it sounds like dirt is flinging up on the bottom of the car from the same area but there is nothing under there that i know of.

The car shift into all the gears just fine and once it is in gears there is no problems. The only other thing it does is sometimes when I shift from first to second the car makes a whistle noise that sounds like it is coming from the engine. Then it stops and runs fine again.

I am stumped by this and don't want to run to Mazda and waste my time just yet because the car runs fine they will just lube everything and I will be out 2-3 hours from work.

Anyone else had a problem like this? Thanks guys take it easy.

Some one tolf me this.

Some one told me this.

You need a new clutch, pressure plate and throw out bearing, cause only 1/2 of the clutch is working. It sounds like one of the springs to the throw out bearing is broke. So it is not hitting the pressure plate flush to it. When it hits it just right it will make a pop noise.

Does that sound like a good possibility? I don't think my warranty will cover that.

Just a long shot here, but check your engine mounts & make sure the engine isn't contact the body/frame when loading/unloading due to bad mounts

u just said passenger side wheel well the tranny is on the drivers side, 2nd if your clutch was out you would see your rpms start going up but your car would move nowhere no matter what gearr its in.....you might check wheel bearings or cv joint

oh yeah check that damn mount t on passenger side that makes the car make weird noises when it blows
