Mazda 2 Driver Window issue?

Is this normal?

The driver side window goes down normally in "AUTO" down mode. That is when I push the window button once so that it goes all the way down automatically.

But when I try to put it down only halfway by manually holding my finger on the button, not using the AUTO function of the power window button, the window goes down 1", pauses for 1 second, and then continues to go down until I let go of the power window button.

Before I go to the dealer, is it formal for the power window to pause after going down 1"?

There's a built-in function, where the switch has a little "hitch". That hitch drops the window down that 1", presumably for the window visors. Could possibly be you're not pressing hard enough to by-pass that point?

Yeah, that's vent mode, and it's meant for use with window visors. You can thank the smokers in Japan for that feature.

The dealer can turn it off with the M-MDS.

The dealer service department confirmed that it is a built in feature for smokers.
