I have a 92 mazda protege 1.8Dohc with a stupid auto transmission and diein to swap it to a 5 speed but I need to know what years and what cars will bolt up to my motor someone told me a ford festiva but don't know what year. And I know I can do the swap I checked for the holes in the fire wall for everything. Thanks for your time

NOt the Festiva.

FORD ESCORT GT (or tracer LTS), from 1991-1996 were the same chassis. BUT some sensors are diffrent.

You will need transmision, lower cross brace, flywheel, trans upper motor mount, pedal assembly, ecu, wiring harness, shifter and linkage, brake master cylinder (possibly) cluch master cylinder, with correct lines. CLutch, axles. to get you started.

Best bet for some.
find a crashed 1990-1994 protege, or 1991-1996 Ford escort gt or tracer Lts. Buy a crashed one or a blown engineone. Can sometimes find the wghoel car fo rlike 100-500 bucks. Sometimes cheaper than sourcing all the parts seretaly. PLus there all there for you to see what you need. and diffrences.

hello everyone im new here i drive a 00 protege ES automatic(boring)im trying to do a engine+trany swap hopefully with a mazda bpt but i dont know if it fits or what trany to use with it if anyone has done this build i would greatly apreciate some info, iv had the car since 2003 and done minor mods to it like a custom exhaust and short ram intake oh and a set of 17" motegi rims ill post some pics as soon as i figure out how to. i suck at computers!!!!!(band2)
