I'm on the phone with a customer, who I've met before (48yrs old 6'5 275ish lbs, no kids, no wife) guy seemed in good health and good spirits. So im taking his order, and the guy has a heart attack, i can hear the phone hit the ground and then him, and i hear some rustling in the backround and people yelling, and a minute or 2 later some guy picks up the phone, and asks me who it is, so i tell em, and hes like ok well, ill call you back in a little bit, theres an emergency here. so im like ok wtf because i didnt know what happened at first. the guy who works with him calls me back about an hour later and tells me the guy had a massive heart attack and died... WHILE HE WAS ON THE PHONE WITH ME! its just like woah. freaky as anything. now im kinda sad :(

OMG!!! Go home man.
That sucks, guess it helps you realize how quickly we can go.

*has flashbacks to Office Space*

Go home. Toast a beer to the guy (seriously).
You may be the only one to do so.

it is crazy though how someone is here, then just gone like that. it baffles me, really scares me too.

That is bizarre! I sure as hell don't want your telephone #!!! And; I'm on the phone a lot during a work day talking with vendors, placing orders, etc...

heh grishulia, i was going to say that on the phone when the guy called me back, but i figured just as a man died, it wouldnt be proper to make a comment like that, even in jest. I was thinking it however. a heartless bastard tho so I couldnt say it :( maybe down the road i will joke about it tho. Its just the freak factor now that someone died while they were talking to me.

Just relax and thank God he chose the guy on the other end of the line and not you...

...we're all going to die someday and I'd prefer to go quick rather than being in the hospital bed forever.

im with ya there grishulia, i hope i get struck by lightning, or something cool, but fast :P im gonna get cremated anyhow, i dont want people looking at me in a box. it does however make me realize how precious life is to ya.

i would have put the phone down, clocked out, and took my ass home for the day........................................

heh my hands are shaking, im still freaked out by it, maybe when i calm down a lil bit, i only have an hr left anyhow, and nothing to do. trying to take my mind off it some.

I know a guy that feels this way, he has something like the following on his wrist:
-Do not put on life support
-Do no resuscitate
etc..
Do not touch him at all!

He has half his face blown off in the gulf war and doesn't want to be touched by any doctor ever again.

Hey I can probably find Gregs number somewhere around here if you want to give him a call.

Course then we would have to live without the "I love my mazdaspeed threads" or the even more enjoyable "JHJ and J-Lo" threads. :D

Yeah! And; you all don't want that; do ya?

i talk to 100 people a day and that would screw me up if a customer died while is was on the phone with him

Yeah i know my great grandma has a DNR (do not ressustate) tag on her necklace thingy. shes super old and just dosent care to live her life on a hospital bed.

Wow, that is shocking. I would have gone home immediately.

A friend of mine's cousin just died recently. He was swimming with his two children (about 7 and 9 I believe) went and took a dive off the diving board, hit his head at the bottom and died instantly, he was in his mid 30s. I have never heard a more terrifying story. Those poor children. Things like this really make you realize just how precious your life is and the lives of those you love.

Take a break, man, go home and relax. I wouldn't think anything of him passing while he was on the phone with you, it was just coincidence, that's all. Unless you subscribe to those Final Destination kind of theories. :p

What did your co-workers say about it?

Take care, man.
