2007 Mazda 3 hatch
I have a 2007 mazda 3 hatch, I wanna lower it just a little. What do i have to keep in my mind when doing this? Also, what brand would you recommend? And anything else i would need for this project. Thank you for your help. Here is a pic of the 3

It really depends what you plan to do with the car. Make it look better? Or race/ autox? There are a bunch of options for parts, trust me I have looked. I have not done anything to lower mine yet but I have been researching as much as I can. If you just want to lower it, buy springs and call it a day. Track related lowering would call for sway bars and possibly coilovers, not to mention wider/larger offset wheels. It will make you crazy when you start to see all the options.

I just wanna lower it thats all, No racing for me. So any brands you recommend? Like tein or eibach

I would just go with what your budget can afford. I am really not sure of any real quality differences between brands. Do as much research as you can, read reviews and what not. At least you can make a self educated decision that way. You should be able to go with lowering springs and stick with the stock dampers till they wear out.

Thank you. I appreciate it.

the prokit will be good if yu want a small drop. Some people have said they needed an alignment after lowering it all depends on your car.

Yes d, you are right an alignment would be a good idea. Matter of fact, it will have to be done since the front and rear suspensions will have to be partially dis-assembled. Good luck x.

You should ALWAYS get an alignment if you change a suspension component. The part that varies from car to car is whether you need camber arms in the rear or not and how much to adjust them if you do need them.

I purchased and installed some Progress springs about 2-3 months ago now, and i havent had any problems, i like the ride its not too stiff not too soft. you might wanna look into those springs as well. it dropped it about 1.5 inches, my springs are settled and i have a 2 finger wheel gap all around. this is on a sedan 3. just thought i'd put my input since i was asking the same questions not too long ago. good luck.

I recommend the Pro-Kit if you want as close to OEM ride as possible. The drop is a mild 1.2 inches and looks great. Your stock dampers are not going to have the correct damping for lower springs though, so expect a bouncy ride sometimes depending on the road surface. Some people get 10 or 20K on them but I'd recommend just going with new ones at the same time as you install the springs. The amount of work it takes to disassemble the suspension is enough that makes it not worthwhile to do it twice just to get a few more miles out of the stockers.

I have an eibach-pro kit paired with koni fsd shocks. I am very happy about the drop because I am still running on stock wheels.

haha yeah ill post some up later, i dont really have any pics on hand of my car. so this gives me an excuse to stop being lazy and shoot my car finally. haha will post some up later, sorry for the late reply.

i went with tein springs, the only thing i needed to get was the rear camber arms, i had a guy drive my car and look at the stuff, said an alignment right now is unnecessary, unless it starts to pull left or right

def a little diff than stock, but bearable, my bf had coilovers on his subaru so i guess i was used to it.. lol
