Some of my friends swear that my P5 has lowering springs on it, but i dont think it does. I am the second owner and the owner before had done some little odds and ends to it, but my question is this: What are some obvious ways to find out? Does anybody know how many inches are between the tire and fender on a stock p5?

thanks,
Jesse

There are usually a lot more coils on aftermarket springs.. unless you get some ebay cheapo's. A lot of the aftermarket springs are progressive rate... which means some of the coils are grouped together and then progressively spaced apart. Also look at your struts.. if they are leaking you probably have aftermarket springs :)

im pretty sure its stock but jsut ot be completely sure.

Can we get a pic of the car as a whole?

Also, aren't the Mazdaspeed springs black? That would drop you 3/4 of an inch.

Looks pretty stock. The MP3 and Mazdaspeed spring only lower the car about 3/4". It would still look pretty stock with those. Then again, it would be pretty obvious considering the are bright red,and stock on the P5 stock springs are black.

im working on that, i have to convince the parental units first.

Eibach springs will help the handling of your Protege therefore making it a safer vehicle and your parents want whats best for you. So in your best interest and for your personal safety your parents are going to want to buy a set of Eibachs. Remember its for your personal safety

LOL

certain years of the mp5's had a dealer installed option called the ms 3 package that puts
the mazda speed springs on i believe
