Lowered on H&R's widest tire on stock wheels?

LOL WUT

My car is lowered on H&R's and I am about to buy some new tires for the stock wheels. Should 225/40/18 clear the fenders? I searched but everyone was asking about bigger tires/wheels or on stock suspension.

The minimum recommended rim width for most 225/40/18 tires is 7.5", so some tire shops won't mount them on your 7" wide stock wheels due to liability... but yes, they will fit and work just fine without rubbing.

Thanks for the quick response!

Our factory wheels are 7.5" wide, if I'm not mistaken.

You can go 225 on MS3 factory wheels without rubbing on H&R springs, I'm speaking from personal experience. Once I went 235, immediate rubbing on ALL, and I mean ALLLLLL bumps. Had to hammer the inside fender area flat. Next tires are gonna be 245s on my 7.5" wide wheels. I'll make it work!

^ For the first gen MS3 (which the OP has) they are 18x7"... the second gen MS3 uses 18x7.5" but that's not really relevant here. And I didn't say it wouldn't work, you can fit a 245 on a 6.5" wheel and ride on it. I said it wasn't recommended.

No...the 1st and 2nd gen are both 7.5" wide.

Where are you getting your specs? Because you should stop trusting them. I have personally confirmed the first gen wheels are 18x7J, and every automotive website I've checked confirms this...

EDIT: here's one of the first matches on google for ya... read the specs on the right. They are the same as those in the owner's manual, too, FWIW.

awe man...fine you win. I thought it was 7.5". Remember reading it somewhere. Guess I was wrong. Good job.
