Lowered my MS3!!

there is no camber adjustment on there now. I cant visually notice any camber changes after lowering it. I believe that since the car was slightly lowered (compared to regular 3) from the factory, the camber does not drasticly change and an adjustment is not necesary.

remember though, these springs are prototypes, I don't yet have the final versions. So alligment and tire wear is definitely something I will be keeping an eye on during my testing period in case adjusments need to be made
Are you still running the stock tire size? I'm looking to bump mine to 225/45/18 on the stock wheels - MIGHT go with another 10-spoke depending on what's out there.

asfter lowering a car i woudl still get it alighned. when you move the front wheels up and down you chang ethe toe in the front since the rack and pinion stays still. i dropped one of my cars 4 inches and you could see the tow (about 4 inches)

but the drop does look good.
get rid of that unsightly wheel gap. lol but looks good!

Yeah I think that I will end up getting it alligned eventually (probably when I get the new wheels) but as for now, it tracks just fine down the road, no pull in either direction, seems pretty well alligned to me.

yes, I am still running the stock tires. I did speak with them about changing to a 225 or 235 size tire and they said that it should be fine. I am more concerned about the wheel width. I originally was going to get a 18x8 wheel but now I think I will go with 18x7.5 to avoid needing to roll the fenders severely

You should have the car aligned asap, actually. You might not b able to notice anything until your tires are hosed. Should only cost $50 at a custom alilgnment shop!

Looks great, although I personally wouldn't do it. I certainly don't miss having to enter places at an angle and always stress about scraping.

Is the ride harsh at all?

(iagree)
Looks awesome, but I don't think I'd lower mine that far.
The roads around here aren't in the greatest state, and I'd scrape it way to much...

...which reminds me, it's about time for the turn of the season from Still Winter to Construction...

Car looks good!

And so do those pictures... did you finally pull the trigger on a nice camera? :)

thanks man!

nooo, I still havent made that purchase. My Aunt has been nice enough to let me keep hers all this time (nikon d70), but I have to finally give it back this weekend :(

I know they stopped making the d70 body, so I am hoping to pick up a used one fairly cheap when ppl start upgrading to the d80 or d200. My motto right now tho is, car parts first - camera second. Besides, what good is a nice camera without my favorite photo subject looking her best!?

or pay a shop to have lifetime alighnemt, and everytrime you change tires, hit a curb, or have a secodn person ride, you go down and have it alighned, some shops still offer it!

Looks really nice.... Im thinking of buying the Eibach Pro springs which go 1-1.5in... Is 1.25 the final drop or is that how much they dropped now? Because they should settle down even more after a couple weeks, so maybe figure on another .5 drop. Also, dont waste your money on a camber kit like some are asking if you got. With a drop under 2inches you can just go to a sears or somewhere and have them do an alignement and if it wont align properly they wont charge you, see first then buy a camber kit if needed, noone seems to know that though!. Looks exactly how I want mine though!!! good mod!

Your Car looks great! (bow) My days of lowering cars is pretty much over unless I go with a small drop like the Mazdaspeed Kit. The roads today are just not taken care of like they use to be and by the time you miss one pot hole your avoiding the next. Its a shame.........

Anyhow, how is the ride quality compared to the stock MS3 springs. Softer, Stiffer.... Also how is the rebound?

LoL My Motto is the same way right now! Im thinking of buying a new camera but thats a downpipe or intake or springs or....... CAR FIRST! My Gf doesnt like that lol (shady)

Looks great! But damn that makes my back hurt just thinking about riding in it. Like M3 Zoom, my days of lowering cars is pretty much over unless smooth compliant ride quality is a guarantee. 6 years of H&R Supersports will make anyone NOT want to lower their car and look for the closest Lincoln Continental.

Thanks everybody for the compliments. The ride is stiffer than the stock ms3 springs, but its not harsh. You will feel the bumps more, but thats pretty standard for any lowered car.

The drop is 1.1" now, they will settle, but not .5" probly more like .25" at the most. Also, thank you for backing me up here! I dropped my protege 1.75" and it didnt screw up the camber. The speed 3 is designed for a lower ride height (albeit, not this low, but still) so a simple allignment should be all thats necesary. I will be waiting to do that until they give me the final springs though, not worth getting it alligned now just for them to mess it all up again in a month. [bring on the flaming for cost of tires vs cost of allignment....i swear its not bad at all]

I can't believe you drove your car there!!!!

LOL you should see how I got down from the bridge,

yes it was like the wild child video of the MS3 busting out of the crate carrying it ;)
It was a little ways from the road too and I had to weave through a tractor trailer to get up there, I couldnt get my buddy to go up there with me lol, I checked for nail, glass, metal, etc... before I did it though, all for a stupid pic! I like it though! and he's now jealous lol
