looking to buy cosmo, but.............

just checked on goo.net cheapest 20B on there is a 1991 type E with a 110kms (probably due a re-build) and full Mazdaspeed dealer kit in blue
the conversion rate is 6,005 GBP plus customs duties and VAT,,estimated UK arrival price inc duties paid will be over 9k,,

Prices have more than doubled in the last 2 years,, WOW!!

Wow! Doubled? Prices seem to b going up here again too, but we cant bring them in from Japan for another few years, to be able to register them.

We estimate numbers are dropping here too. We estimate maybe as low as 50, but impossible to tell for sure! How many do you estimate in the UK?

Hi guys,
Finally got around to signing up. I am the person who acquired the Cosmo in the UK from Carl. Carl and I have been friends for a long time and I have been a rotorhead for many years too. As a quick intro I am Anthony (Ant) and have owned over the years 1996 JDM RX-7, 4 x RX-3s, 2005 RX-8 and still have stashed away my 1973 UK RX-2 and now the 1995 Cosmo 20b. I have also imported rotaries, other cars and parts over the years from Japan as I have a great Japanese friend just outside of Tokyo.

Info here is correct, I am British but currently living in the US and the RX-2 and Cosmo are in the UK. Driven 20b Cosmo before in the UK and Japan and always loved them and couldn't resist buying this one - apologies mumbles. As noted I do head back to the UK 2-3 times a year usually and will likely play with the Cosmo on these trips now. Look forward to keeping an eye out here as I have been and being part of the community.

Thanks

Ant

Hi Frank,
Thanks - no idea yet I am yet to see her myself in person! I will be back at the latest summer time in the UK to play with her (and again in Oct).
Great, have plans to hook up with Dom anyway. Would be nice to meet you and have a Cosmo blast.

And if you ever make it to Australia, come and see some of our cars. See the Dr Jurds Jungle juice Thread for a recent selection.

Hi ant.
You really won't be disappointed with Carl's Cosmo. It's probably better than he described.
I wish I could of bought it but unfortunately it wasn't meant to be.

At least I had the pleasure of being a passenger with Carl as we went on a quick test drive.

Maybe 1 day I'll have 1 ;)

Hi Chris,
Thanks for the positive vibes appreciate you sharing that. I am sure it is as Carl says, he and I have been good friends for a many number of years and trust his judgement.
Maybe you and I will cross paths on one my trips back to the UK as I plan to use the Cosmo to buzz around in and store when I'm not around, you are welcome to drive and
ride in her :-)

Sorry Ant
Didn't realise you replied.
I will hold you to that and thanx for the offer.
I am still looking for 1 of these cars and maybe 1 day I will have 1.
One had come up for sale but it's now got a few issues (not major) and it looks like the owner is changing his mind about selling. And if I'm honest I don't blame him ;)

No worries. Where abouts are you located? I tend to be on the South coast, driving and around Lincoln/Peterborough way and in between usually. I'd offer to use my contact in Japan to locate one for you but with the Yen being so strong you will def get a better bargain in the UK - patience though :-)
