Any reason why you believe you might be able to pull it off? Many have tried and failed before. And I can't imagine there are many MP3s in H-town, let alone active on this site (I know of none, and have never seen an MP3 when I've been home...not that that means much).
Well i just dumped a focus (eec ecu) to a bin file and was able to modify it and burn it to a chip and hook iy back up and it accepted the changes ya i dont see an issue.
IM not asking for there ecu, they can come watch me do it if they like. I got a MSP ecu for tomorrow that is getting dumped as well and placed on another chip for testing but its the mp3 tune im after.
Also the benifits arnt just to us NA guys. Once the fuel tables are maped out you can run larger injectors and not need a stand alone.
I can understand your skepticism but trust me im not playing around. The MSP ecu will get dumped tomorrow and burned to a chip which i will install on my own car for testing.
Already written its so simple i dont know what people were having an issue with.
Now the real issue is tuning. There is no table available to show what all the hex locations are for so that will be a long ongoing process.... But cloning is easy as pie!
Now dont you think releasing all that information would be shooting my self in the foot?
I will tell you this, you can not write to the ecu directly
I have more testing to do but im SOL until i get my hands on an MP3 ecu so i have 3 bin files to compare. MSP, MP3, and P5.
Once i have those i will be able to start comparing bin files and blowing away tables that match and eventually i will be left with the proper tables to make changes on my own.
There ya go. As far as we all know, the only changes to the MP3 ECU were limited to advanced timing, and the lack of VTCS. That's compared to the P5/protege ECU.
